Yesterday, we reported that Legend of the Seeker there were strong rumors that the TV show had been cancelled after two seasons on the air. ABC Studios, which produces the program, hasn’t made an official announcement. However, two of the show’s most vocal supporters have.
Actress Bridget Reagan (Confessor Kahlan) wrote, via Twitter, “Got some sad news that Seeker is no more. So sad to say goodbye to my NZ family but excited for what’s next.”
Via his own Twitter account, producer Mike Sussman wrote, “The quest is complete. Thank you so much to our amazing cast, crew & all our fans, it’s been an awesome two years. We will miss you all.”
What do you think? Was Legend of the Seeker worth watching? Why do you think the show’s ratings were on the decline?

Honestly, one of the reasons this show didn’t do so well was the plot. I, like so many other people, am a fan of the book series, “The Sword of Truth” series by Terry Goodkind. This show, as most of you probably already know, is based off of that series. Watching, I’d say, maybe half of the first season was enough to anger me to the point of turning the series off. Now having said that, my step-dad, never read the books, likes it. When he told me how the first season ended, I was still angry. Now, before you… Read more »
Hear hear to Den, I also believe wholeheartedly that SyFy should pick this show up. It reminds me along the lines of Hercules & Xena from way back when. They were also good shows in the beginning, but the longer the show went on, the lamer the plot got. But this show is still too early on to be anywhere near lame. The women are “Friggin Smokin Hot” !!!!!, and not that I’m a homo, but the Seeker is built like a “Brick-Shithouose”, and last but not least, Zed is the collest of them all.
If you want a show to continue you go out and buy the seasons DVD. That is how other shows have gotten put back on the air.
There has to be a problem with the Nielsen TV ratings. With as many sci-fi fans that they are there would be no way that almost all of the sci-fi shows get cancelled . Is there no sci-fi fans in the Nielsen TV ratings program. If you don’t know what the Nielsen TV ratings is don’t feel bad. I had never heard of it till I looked up TV ratings. You could have everybody you every meet watch the show, and it would not matter unless some of them were in the Nielsen TV ratings program. Here is a little… Read more »
I hate that they cancelled this show! It’s horrid! I loved the plot, characters and everything…I’m so upset. I too hope someone will pick it up!
Love the show. I agree that having a DVR ensured watching each episode. I hope it can continue, perhaps on another channel like SciFi.
Eagerly awaited this show every week. Was a crazy 5PM Saturday time slot, so I’m sure some people had a problem finding it. I wonder if the dwindling viewer numbers also included those of us who taped the show, or only those who watched Real Time. Never read any of the books, but loved the T.V. story lines, the actors’ believability factor, and the gorgeous settings. Save our Seeker!
Then I can finally get rid of cable and stop watching tv.
There isn’t anything left to watch besides crappy reality shows and sitcoms that have no business even being made.
I loved it… but it changed station for the second season so i watched it on hulu.com
Again, it was the time slot. Very few people knew about it because the time slot was bad. For example, it was on in my areas on Sat at 7 and Sun 11:35, however the Sat one was always on awk times sometimes because different programming or sport games would push it back or completely take it off air, this in the long run hurt the show. And the sunday one was so late at night when everyone had to go to bed to get up for work or school the next day. I was 17 when i started watching. This… Read more »
One of the reasons I stopped watching and maybe alot of other people did too, was because of all the perverted stuff they were showing in season two (season one wasn’t as bad) it was like they lost all consept of what the show was really about–I was a bit sad at this but what can you say alot of shows end up that way, not a big suprise!
Perverted? I’m sorry but I didn’t really see the perversion. Two hot chicks fighting side by side with a strapping handome young hero and an elderly wizard. This show appealed to all ages and demographics. The time slot was just too much to overcome. Moving it to Thursday night or even Friday night could have saved it. Imagine watching Smallville, then the Seeker or watching the Seeker then backed up by Supernatural on CW11! They would win the time slot easily.
I hope that ABC Disney will reconsider . I love the show . Ordered the first book and i will be buying the season 1&2 on DVD but we do need more please x
This show was a wonderful, entertaining show. I am 68 years old and it was something I had programed to record whenever it came on. The problem with it being on a cable station and not a network was that it was hard to find sometimes. That is why I programed my DVR to record it and that way I would not miss any shows. I hope that ABC Disney will reconsider and let us have more of the good acting and stories.
THAT STINKS!! I AGREE BAD TIME SLOT! but dang i really liked this show!!!! better all the other over rated reality shows, law shows etc. it was different! sigh! another great show bites the dust again
It had a terrible time slot. Hard to remember when it was on. Will be missed. It was a great show.
