Sometimes the truth hurts — especially when it comes to television ratings. After three seasons, FOX has cancelled Lie to Me.
Starring Tim Roth, Lie to Me revolves around Cal Lightman and members of The Lightman Group. They’re a team of specialists who help law enforcement agencies uncover the truth by using applied psychology. Others in the cast include Kelli Williams, Brendan Hines, Monica Raymund, Hayley McFarland, and Mekhi Phifer.
Last season, Lie to Me averaged a 2.9 rating in the all-important 18-49 demographic and 8.03 million total viewers. That was down from season one and the series found itself on the bubble for renewal. FOX ended up giving the TV series another chance and renewed it for 13 episodes.
Unfortunately, season three didn’t perform nearly as well as season two. It premiered last October to a 2.1 rating in the demo and 5.86 million. Viewership eroded in subsequent weeks and FOX declined to give the show a full season order. Lie to Me then hit a new series low in January, registering a meager 1.5 rating and 5.43 million viewers.

In its final weeks on the air, viewers seemed to rally behind it and Lie to Me had its best ratings of the season — a 2.5 in the demo and 7.67 million.
Though the ratings had come way down, FOX execs claimed that they still valued the TV series and saw it as a solid utility player. Showrunner Alex Cary said, “Fox has been very clear with us — they know what the show is, they know what it can do. [The ratings bump] shows that people will come watch the show.”
Now, after three seasons on the air, the series is over. FOX has officially cancelled Lie to Me after 48 episodes. All of the installments have aired. Though there are too few episodes for a traditional syndication package, the first two seasons have already been released on DVD.

I watched this show on Netflix and it is an amazing show. The cast complimented each other well. I agree that Netflix should pick up the series and have at least one more season to give the show a great ending. Please Netflix
Please make another season! I have seen them all within a week on Netflix. So if fox won’t make it, well Netflix must.

Best TV series in years. I just finished all the seasons on Netflix in under a week! Definetly needs to come back! Perhaps they can make an agreement with Netflix rather than Fox and bring back an incredible show.
That’s such a shame, I love this show. I found it on Netflix like three days ago, and I’m already halfway through season 2. I love this show so much, I’m so happy I found it. I wish there was more than just three seasons.
I just watched the entire three seasons on Netflix and I came to the internet looking for season 4.I am sorry but if they gave it a chance especially with the new addition : Michael B Jordan this show would have done wonders. PLEASE BRING IT BACK

I can just strongly agree, we started to watch with my partner and I started to look after season 4, and I am so dissapointed now I have to find out wont be more. It was a great TV series, (watched on Netflix), and I wanted to see more.
They should bring it back really. Was an interesting, funny, not ordinary TV series. We looking forward for news, and for the 4th even for 6th 7th series.
I’ve literally just finished season 3 today aswell and I’m devasted to say the least! Definitely shouldn’t of been cancelled it’s a quality TV show, one of the best! It’s different to everything else out there!

They should reboot the show and if the original cast wont come back then recast and have Emily as the lead character of the show and owner of the Lightman Group

I’m truly heartbroken. Lie to me was a brilliant show with a phenomenal cast. They left on such a pinnacle moment. Please, please bring it back!! There are few shows that are as intelligent, for those of us who can’t stand reality TV! I’ll personally start recruiting viewers, if you bring it back! What a great cast!!! PLEAZE…???

Complete ridiculous to end this show! Maybe FOX should think outside USA! We are a few people here in Denmark who’s devastated! Watched the series in Netflix! FOX, get a grip!!!!!
