TV show description:
Set in Big Sky country, this thriller TV show is based on the Walt Longmire Mystery novels by best-selling author Craig Johnson.
Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) is the charismatic, dedicated and unflappable sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming. Recently widowed, Longmire is a man who buries his pain behind a brave face and dry wit. He’s known for his manners, strength, and old-fashioned approach. His dedication to the law and his passion for the great West make him a desirable lawman.
Victoria ‘Vic’ Moretti (Katee Sackhoff) is the newest addition to the sheriff’s office. Leaving the homicide division in Philadelphia after five years, Vic is still adjusting to dealing with the locals in her new town. Her playful relationship with Longmire holds a deeper connection that allows her to be his most trusted deputy. Vic is out to prove she isn’t a rookie and to show she is capable and loyal.
Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Phillips) is Walt’s lifelong best friend and a local bar owner. Henry is a handsome and charming Cheyenne who is fiercely protective of his tribe and serves as Walt’s go-between with the reservation. Being a business owner, he is comfortable with progress and modernity while maintaining a connection with his past, unlike his close friend.
Deputy Branch Connally (Bailey Chase) is a go-getter with blind confidence. He has political aspirations that often motivate him more than solving cases. His resentment toward Walt’s outdated approach further inspire him to run for sheriff, especially after feeling that he is picking up his boss’s slack. He wants to bring Absaroka County into the 21st century, and he longs to update the sheriff’s station with the technology that other law enforcement agencies use.
Another deputy, The Ferg (Adam Bartley), is a big guy with the heart of a puppy dog. He is loyal, sweet, well-meaning and eager to please. A gifted fly-fisherman who knows how to hunt and fix things, The Ferg has a long way to go as an investigator. Even though he may not be a perfect fit for the job, he is no coward.
Cady Longmire (Cassidy Freeman) is Walt’s only child and an attorney with dreams of the big city. After the death of her mother, Cady has taken it upon herself to help her father get his life back together. She is keenly aware of his imperfections and is the only one not afraid to point them out. Her straight talk and sense of humor connect this father-daughter duo even though they both tend to drive the other crazy.

What do you think? Are you a fan of the Longmire TV series? Do you think it should have ended or been renewed for a seventh season on Netflix?
I WANT LONGMIRE BACK……… THERE IS NO REASON TO HAVE CANCELLED THIS SHOW IT IS ONE THE BEST IN A LONG TIME. THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE CANCELLED THIS PROGRAM SURELY HAVE SMOKE GOING UP YOU KNOW WHAT. FOR ONCE HOW ABOUT LEAVING A GOOD PROGRAM ALONE FOR THE POPULATION THAT ENJOY IT. THERE IS ENOUGH GARBAGE ON TV AS IT IS.
I just found out today that they cancelled Longmire & The Glades because they did not fill the advertisers demographics. The average for both shows was the age group 58 to 66 and they wanted younger people to watch the show. That is why they cancelled both shows. I think they need to start a channel for just us old fogies, The advertiser’s from all the pharmaceutical companies would make a fortune. It’s a sad state of affairs when The Baby Boomers can’t even get a decent show to watch. Instead they put all those ridicules asinine reality shows. Lets… Read more »
Re people over 60 You must not be aware of the latest statistics. They are the ones who are exploring new ideas, trying new things and most importantly, spending money. Please reconsider NOT canceling Longmire.
BIG MISTAKE canceling !!! We will find a new home
I think they made a mistake canceling
this show. It has a solid cast and is exstreamly
enjoyable . They can’t put Criminal Minds on
for ever. Think!
We loved that show. I’m very sad and mad that they cancelled it !!
Especially with the crap they keep on tv !!
As my bride and I enjoy watching Longmire, it was a shock to see that it has been cancelled. The fact that the network would cancel a show that is one of their more popular shows is absolutely and totally the most idiotic thing they could have done. We would love to see them change their minds and bring it back.
What a huge mistake to cancel Longmire. Great great program. Wise up big shots and get it back on the air. Very upsetting news.
My favorite show. So sad it is cancelled. One of the best written and acted shows on tv.
I am very fond of the Longmire show. The show may be a police drama but due to it’s setting it is very unique. I thought the last scene of the show was quite a cliff hanger. It is very clear to me that shows for adults or should I say a “mature” audience simply don’t have enough appeal to the advertisers. Sorry to see this show go.
My wife and I love longnmire, it sis shuch a let down when a network deside to cancel one of the few good programs. Programs that have a plot. And make you think, unlike those other so call reality shows that have absolutly no content, just nonsense. Shame on the network that cancel good tv programs.
I hope another network will get longmire.
Totally baffled by this cancelled program. This program depicted an individual with honesty and integrity. Enjoyed the program and would really like to see the continuation. The network executives really got this wrong.
I’ve been watching Longmire from the beginning. I’m shocked that it would be cancelled because of the median age. I, for one, would like to see it back on r I’ll just have to stop watching A&E.
We looked forward every week to this show. Big mistake !
Simply put a&e screwed up on this one. My wife and i love the show gonna miss it but not gonna miss the channel
I heard a report on NPR today about the show being cancelled. The reason stated was because the median age of watchers is 60 and the advertisers pulled out. That amazes me since they also said it is one of the most popular shows on A&E. We grew up watching westerns and “Longmire” is certainly up there with the best, in my opinion. Perhaps Netflix will see fit to pick it up. I would think they could go to the makers of Viagra and Cialis for advertising and make it work!
