TV show description:
Set in Big Sky country, this thriller TV show is based on the Walt Longmire Mystery novels by best-selling author Craig Johnson.
Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) is the charismatic, dedicated and unflappable sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming. Recently widowed, Longmire is a man who buries his pain behind a brave face and dry wit. He’s known for his manners, strength, and old-fashioned approach. His dedication to the law and his passion for the great West make him a desirable lawman.
Victoria ‘Vic’ Moretti (Katee Sackhoff) is the newest addition to the sheriff’s office. Leaving the homicide division in Philadelphia after five years, Vic is still adjusting to dealing with the locals in her new town. Her playful relationship with Longmire holds a deeper connection that allows her to be his most trusted deputy. Vic is out to prove she isn’t a rookie and to show she is capable and loyal.
Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Phillips) is Walt’s lifelong best friend and a local bar owner. Henry is a handsome and charming Cheyenne who is fiercely protective of his tribe and serves as Walt’s go-between with the reservation. Being a business owner, he is comfortable with progress and modernity while maintaining a connection with his past, unlike his close friend.
Deputy Branch Connally (Bailey Chase) is a go-getter with blind confidence. He has political aspirations that often motivate him more than solving cases. His resentment toward Walt’s outdated approach further inspire him to run for sheriff, especially after feeling that he is picking up his boss’s slack. He wants to bring Absaroka County into the 21st century, and he longs to update the sheriff’s station with the technology that other law enforcement agencies use.
Another deputy, The Ferg (Adam Bartley), is a big guy with the heart of a puppy dog. He is loyal, sweet, well-meaning and eager to please. A gifted fly-fisherman who knows how to hunt and fix things, The Ferg has a long way to go as an investigator. Even though he may not be a perfect fit for the job, he is no coward.
Cady Longmire (Cassidy Freeman) is Walt’s only child and an attorney with dreams of the big city. After the death of her mother, Cady has taken it upon herself to help her father get his life back together. She is keenly aware of his imperfections and is the only one not afraid to point them out. Her straight talk and sense of humor connect this father-daughter duo even though they both tend to drive the other crazy.

What do you think? Are you a fan of the Longmire TV series? Do you think it should have ended or been renewed for a seventh season on Netflix?
Cancelling Longmire is sheer insanity!!! Whoever is making thse decisions should be in the unemployment line by now. The Glades was excellent in the first season then immediately began going down hill and became just a soap opera after the first season. Is the same person who allowed The Glades to got o crap also making this decision??? Someon needs to realize that “Entertainment” is part of the networks name and be able to recognize unique and great shows, but ths apparently not the case at A&E! Put someone in charge who wants unique shows with great writing and actors,… Read more »
There are too many fans of this show to cancel it. I guess A&E is like so many politicians, they vote they way they want to, because they know more than the people they serve and who elected them. Well A&E, election day is coming and your losing votes!
Hopefully “Longmire” will continue on another network which will appreciate their viewers/consumers.
I love the Longmire series. I hate that A&E cancelled it! I thought it needed a better time slot. Everybody I know watched it. I can’t believe it has been cancelled!
It makes me annoyed that you cancel a great show due to the sponsors and what they think the demographics should be. I would like a list of those sponsors so I make sure I dont buy their products!
Should be renewed, it kept me more interested in it than several other shows did encluding the show “Dallas”.
Best show on TV . Only show that has native Americans and show a small portion of Native American life good or bad .I hope I gets picked up by another network
“Reality” TV continues while Longmire is gone?! Makes no sense.
What is up with cancelling Longmire. Come on A&E. This was a great show!
for petes sake A&E whatsa matter no zombies? no idiots like in reality tv? a great show and you cancell….for what?
I can’t believe that A&E would cancel Longmire. I loved this program. A&E you blew it. Hopefully another network will pick it up.
Someone please pick up this series. It was really enjoyable !
A&E doesn’t have much going for it and cancelling Longmire pretty much cancelled A%E from my viewing. I can watch Criminal Minds reruns on several other channels. Too bad. It was the best thing on A&E since the Glades. Hope Longmire gets picked up by a goo network and continues on.
Apparently all networks are cancelling good wholesome programing that reasonably inteligent persons would watch. I guess they are messing with everyone’s head which follows the lead of our leaders now days.
Best western since Gunsmoke. That ran for 20 years…
Hard to believe you would cancel a show of this QUALITY.
We only hope another network is SMART enough to save this show….
T.V is fast becoming a mega wasteland
IF LONGMEYER IS BACK FOR ANOTHER SEASON A&E WILL NOT BE ON MY TV LISTINGS ANT LONGER.IF BYOU CANCELL A SERIES WHEN IT GETS VERY INTERESTING WHATS THE POINT. YOU WILL MOR THAN LIKELY CANCELL OTHER SERIES I GET INVOLVED IN, SO WHY START.
