TV show description:
Set in Big Sky country, this thriller TV show is based on the Walt Longmire Mystery novels by best-selling author Craig Johnson.
Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) is the charismatic, dedicated and unflappable sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming. Recently widowed, Longmire is a man who buries his pain behind a brave face and dry wit. He’s known for his manners, strength, and old-fashioned approach. His dedication to the law and his passion for the great West make him a desirable lawman.
Victoria ‘Vic’ Moretti (Katee Sackhoff) is the newest addition to the sheriff’s office. Leaving the homicide division in Philadelphia after five years, Vic is still adjusting to dealing with the locals in her new town. Her playful relationship with Longmire holds a deeper connection that allows her to be his most trusted deputy. Vic is out to prove she isn’t a rookie and to show she is capable and loyal.
Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Phillips) is Walt’s lifelong best friend and a local bar owner. Henry is a handsome and charming Cheyenne who is fiercely protective of his tribe and serves as Walt’s go-between with the reservation. Being a business owner, he is comfortable with progress and modernity while maintaining a connection with his past, unlike his close friend.
Deputy Branch Connally (Bailey Chase) is a go-getter with blind confidence. He has political aspirations that often motivate him more than solving cases. His resentment toward Walt’s outdated approach further inspire him to run for sheriff, especially after feeling that he is picking up his boss’s slack. He wants to bring Absaroka County into the 21st century, and he longs to update the sheriff’s station with the technology that other law enforcement agencies use.
Another deputy, The Ferg (Adam Bartley), is a big guy with the heart of a puppy dog. He is loyal, sweet, well-meaning and eager to please. A gifted fly-fisherman who knows how to hunt and fix things, The Ferg has a long way to go as an investigator. Even though he may not be a perfect fit for the job, he is no coward.
Cady Longmire (Cassidy Freeman) is Walt’s only child and an attorney with dreams of the big city. After the death of her mother, Cady has taken it upon herself to help her father get his life back together. She is keenly aware of his imperfections and is the only one not afraid to point them out. Her straight talk and sense of humor connect this father-daughter duo even though they both tend to drive the other crazy.

What do you think? Are you a fan of the Longmire TV series? Do you think it should have ended or been renewed for a seventh season on Netflix?
Well this a crushing disappointment~~~what possible reason did A&E have to make this decision? Whatever, poor judgment. This and The Bridge and Hell on Wheels are three of my favorites. Whoever said it, was right – it was the only reason to even turn on A&E anymore!
Take it to Netflix!!!!! They have more good programming going on now than any one TV statio network or cable!

I can not believe that Longmire was canceled. My wife an I both liked it. I can not understand why. It could not have been because of the ratings. Not going to watch
A&E anymore.
I can’t believe they cancelled Longmire and leave crap on like Chesney Knows Best and the Kardashians and Tori & Dean, I couldn’t care less about celebrities and their money. I really enjoyed Longmire and Robert Taylor is very nice to look at!!!! I wish they would reconsider
This was my absolutely favorite program. I will no longer watch anything on A&E. This program was actually worth sitting and watching. I don’t know why something this good was ditched. Bad move A&E.
We had 20 people every week over to watch the program. It was wonderful, just like the books.
We love Longmire. I heard, it was because the demographic was older.
We are insulted by this. We count too.. Jody
I am very disappointed that Longmire has been cancelled. I have enjoyed the show since the first time it aired and I looked forward to it coming back each summer. The executives are making a big mistake and I hope they change their minds. I was going to say that I would boycott the network if Longmire does not return, but Longmire is the only show that I watch on A&E. It was the best show in your lineup.
Ridiculous to cancel this great program.
I know of many young people who appreciate the fine acting, writing, directing and photography of this series.
Very few of them will write.
I hope that another network picks this series up.
There are many viewers who enjoy plot-driven programming.
Really disappointed that Longmire was cancelled. Not much on A&E worth watching. I don’t really see much value in “reality TV” about the Walbergs or Duck Dynasty.
Longmire was a non-formulaic show that was entertaining and well acted. Loved the characters and their flaws.
why do they have to cancel a show that’s more down to earth like this one, then have other shows that should not even be showing. I hope they can find a way to bring it back.
longmire was my favorite program Iam so pissed off that it was canceled
There has got to be a way to alert other stations about Longmire. We need to keep the pressure up if we are ever to get this series back on the air. The problem is to whom do we complain. I’ve tried a bunch of email addys for A&E and they are all returned. We need some one on TV Guide or get hold of TMZ to see how we can get this show back. We can’t let this series fall on the wayside people! Longmire fans UNITE!
The same audience that enjoys Downton Abby, Mr. Selfridge, The Blacklist, Larkrise to Candleford, etc liked this show. We, the Boomer Generation are the ones watching television in case the sponsors have not noticed. The younger people don’t watch tv any longer…so WE are the target audience to be honest. It would seem some other network would want to pick up this program. How about Bravo, or TNT or someone like that?
I’m very sorry to see this show go. It was one of my favorites right behind Downton Abby.
This is terrible news. I love the show. So many fine characters. I heard it was cancelled because the target demographic is not what the advertisers think will be profitable. Nonsense. Apparently the show is liked mostly by us boomers and not the 18-24 group.
I love this show and I am truly upset that is has been cancelled. It was intelligent and thoughtful and we really need more programs like this not less. Please bring it back and at the very least tie up the loose ends.
Cancelled? Loved this program. Finally a western theme with good acting for interesting characters. What the heck! Bring it back please.
