Though its viewership has been quite small, Manahattan has been renewed for a second season on WGN America. The period TV show’s first season finale airs this Sunday night.
Set in 1943, Manhattan follows the residents of a secret town of Los Alamos, New Mexico. Hidden away by the federal government, scientists live there with their families while they work to build the world’s first atomic bomb. The cast includes John Benjamin Hickey, Olivia Williams, Alexia Fast, Ashley Zukerman, Rachel Brosnahan, Daniel Stern, Katja Herbers, Christopher Denham, Harry Lloyd, Michael Chernus, Eddie Shin, Daniel London, and Mark Moses.
The 11 episodes that have aired so far have averaged a 0.08 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 420,000 viewers. The cable channel is still very new to producing their own scripted series so likely has low expectations at this point.
What do you think? Do you like the Manhattan TV show? Do you plan to watch season two?
I am so happy this is being renewed I look foreword
To it every week and find it very entertaining
As well as historically significant.
This s a great show- and is an example of great TV. I am so glad its not canceled. I look forward to next season. I wish that other, similar historical fiction could be produced.
Manhattan is a great show, and we are glad to see that there will be a second season.
We found it on HULU, at random, and binged on the thirteen episodes for five-days.
Well done in every way – in its own right, I place it in the same league as True Detective and Game of Thrones.
Outstanding Series in every way! I tried watching weekly, but missed a few, so I just did a Thirteen Series Marathon starting Friday night. Look forward to the next season eagerly. let us know when it Resumes.
Unbelievably incredible television. Watched every episode, and the storyline and writing always bring a new twist. Great acting, and the content is very relevant to today’s political landscape with ideas like govt secrecy, surveillance and privacy explored thoroughly. So glad they renewed, hope many more will watch. Would be such a shame if they had to cancel it before they can show how the war ends! I would love to see Frank or Charlie’s reaction to the culmination of their work in the real world. Or Frank’s disillusionment when he finds out that his hard work and sacrifice will not… Read more »
Great show.. We have 2 generations that don’t relate to mass warfare..
Excellent show. I will watch all the shows. Just one thing, think the sex scenes are revelant? The gay scenes sure aren’t>
PLEASE do not cancel this show. All too often history shows are cancelled because they don’t happen to be no. 1 in the ratings. These shows can be important. Not only for the educational values, even if they are not 100% accurate. It’s important to not forget what we’ve done so history will not repeat itself.
Great, great, great! I arrived at Hanford in 1975 . yes, site w. I walked along the Columbia river just south of this 550 sq. mi. Reservation thinking I must be one of the first. Wrong! What an awakening. There were cement pads off in the weeds from the qwuonset huts in which thousands of people lived while working there. their relatives had no idea where they were. telephone? Forget it. I don’t know if Richland, wa. was even on the map then. A number of decommissioned reactors are still there overseen by the DOE. ps- I helped coach my… Read more »
Best series ever
One of the best shows this season. Looking forward to season 2.
Best show on ! Keep up good work.
This is a well written show and it’s a shame not more people know about it or watched it. I appreciated the adult nature and the artistic creativity that is put into each episode. It rivals anything on the majors and certainly is more entertaining.
Best show in years. Watched every episode and then watched again the marathon to
catch the bits of info I missed.
Can’t wait for the new season.
the show was really, really entertaining (usually) the characters are well cast, the acting first-rate
