While watching the second season of Men of a Certain Age in January, many viewers were dismayed to hear that TNT was calling the sixth episode the “season finale.” Had the show been cancelled?
Actually, TNT decided to cut the season into two parts. At some point, the cable channel increased the season order from 10 to 12 installments. The first six finished airing in January and now the second half dozen episodes are set to begin airing on Wednesday, June 1st at 10pm.
The first half of season two attracted a 0.5 rating in the all-important 18-49 demographic and an average of 2.16 million viewers each week. That’s a significant drop from season one which registered a 1.0 in the demo and an average of 3.19 million.
Will Men of a Certain Age be renewed for season three? That will likely have a lot to do with how well the remaining episodes perform in June. Unless the ratings pick up, it doesn’t look likely that we’ll see Ray Romano, Scott Bakula, and Andre Braugher on screen together after that.
What do you think? Are you glad to hear Men of a Certain Age is returning? Do you think it’ll get renewed for season three?

Why is there even a question about this show being renewed?! It seems that any show with quality writing, acting and some sense of REAL reality to it, is in danger of being canceled to be replaced with some low-quality, tedious, mindless show of which there are already too many.
Let’s try to make sure that this show comes back by being vocal about our interest in retaining quality television!
🙂
I agree! Why do they always cancel the great shows and continue to show the reality shows!!! Luv MOCA!!! Season 3 please!!!
This show is amazing! Hope there are MANY more seasons to come. Very realistic, and most importantly not another crime drama. Bring on season 3!
OMG! I am going 2 B sooooooooooooooooooooooo UPSET AND DISTRAUGHT IF THIS SHOW DOESN’T MOVE ON 2 SEASON 3!!!!!!!!!??!
I think this is a brilliant show- I could see it fitting well on HBO too…as a kind of ‘sex in the city’ for the guys…that the gals like to watch too…. I’m in the UK and am amazed that this show hasnt been promoted/picked up by the UK market as I think it would do very well…All three actors are well known- and the premise is universal and would translate well on this side of the pond. I REALLY hope it is picked up for further seasons as there is alot more to be said- done and explored in… Read more »
Third season! Third season! Please!
I really like this show and I don’t like many. This is one of the most believable shows that is out there and you can really empathize with the characters. Even though I am in a much younger demographic that the characters they are so compelling because they are facing the same type of real world situations that we all deal with. I really hope they bring this show back its just good television.
I LOVE THIS SHOW! I was so surprised and delighted when it returned. Please Please ….. it’s so cool to have a show about the personal lives of men.
I hope this show comes back for season 3. There is a lot of unfinished issues with each of the men. My husband and I love this show.. Pleaase bring it back… So many shows have been cancelled and they were all the best progams.. Don’t do this to this one too..
thanks..
We, the audience for this exceptionally relevant show, have been abused by TNT from its beginning, likewise for Ray Romano and his crew. How is any show expected to build a consistent, loyal fan base with such truncated “seasons”? No sooner do we get into MOCA’s rhythm and storyline than the latest “Finale” is announced, usually after only 5-6 episodes. Once the preferable alternative to boring, dummy-network fare, basic cable channels like TNT, USA and AMC are also disrespecting and driving us away now.. who can keep track of every day/time/season change, no matter how much we love this or… Read more »
This show is AMAZING!! Sell it overseas too….the UK would love it!!!!
This is one of my favorite shows, of which there are few. I really hope TNT brings the show back for another season (and another, and another,…). There are so many bad shows out there; this show is one a lot of people my age (mid 40’s) can really relate to. It’s really well done.
I agree.. bring it back for more than just season 3.. love love love this show.. it deserves to come back for sure..
EXCELLENT SHOW! These characters and tehir stories are so “right on the money” in terms of the realities that Mwn Of A Certain Age go through. Not trying to be funny, but this show is the masculine male version of Steel Magnolias . I identify with most of the plots scenes either because I’ve gone through it or have known other friends/family males go through. Great kudos to the creators of this show and the cast is superb.
I agree, the guys all are dealing with real issues and each week is different from the one before. The health issues of Owen are real for many people. Please bring this show back..
Love the show!! Wonderful actors~ wonderful characters and story. Really hope it continues into 3rd season!
YES
I hope this show isn’t canceled too! Please, this show has REAL life characters that you can connect with vs. those darn reality shows! I’m so disappointed they cancelled Rubicon as that show was incredible – I love the mental hulus!
I am happy to see that it’s coming back in June…but IF I hadn’t specifically looked into it, I would have never known. I wish there was more promotion of this show and others. I also read that Rubicon was canceled, which is really too bad since it was a very smart show.
