TNT has faith in their freshman series Men of a Certain Age. So much that they’ve decided to renew it for a second season before the first one is only half aired.
Men of a Certain Age follows the lives of three male friends who are adjusting to the challenges of middle age. The show stars Ray Romano, Andre Braugher, and Scott Bakula, and also features Norma Jean, Braeden Lemasters, Matt Price, Brittany Curran, Brian J. White, Shelly Desai, Lisa Gay Hamilton, Little JJ, Kwesi Boakye, Penelope Ann Miller, and Michael Hitchcock.
The series debuted to big numbers on December 7th, attracting 5.4 million viewers. That represented ad-supported cable’s top launch of 2009 for households and those ages 25-54 (a natural demographic for the series).
The numbers have dropped significantly since the premiere, with the most recent installment hitting a series low of about 2.9 million viewers.
Despite the decline, TNT believes in Men enough to renew the show for another round of 10 episodes. TNT executive VP Michael Wright said, “Men of a Certain Age has been embraced by viewers and critics alike, making our decision to renew an easy one.”
Season one is expected to finish on February 22nd. No word on when Men will return for season two.

men of a certain age is great! I am so glad it is returning. Raymond has done a fantastic job of creating a character far removed from everybody loves raymond.
Please bring it back one of very few t.v. Shows that both my husband and I enjoy watching
Hell yes this show show be continued! It’s well written and creative. If brainless fodder like Paris Hilton’s My New BFF can be aired then MOACA should be lauded as the new MASH.
TNT’s efforts would be better spent cancelling the show and develop a reality show for this time slot to compete with the big networks. Reality shows are much cheaper to produce and get very high numbers of viewers.

Great writing, great casting. I am 53 and from my perspective, the situations are so incredibly familiar and dead-on. I hope this show continues for the mature and intelligent viewers who appreciate it.
So glad this show is coming back. A mature show with fantastic writing and acting by everyone involved. Will be looking for a return date.

I love this show and have been waiting on it to return. I was hoping it had not been cancelled! And it comes on late enough that the kids are in bed and can actually watch it! I hope “Men of a Certain Age” hurries back.

Cool that they’re smart enought to keep this show. Dead on with the writing and the performances. It can only improve with age. Good writing is everything.
