The latest medical drama on CBS is going the way of Three Rivers and NBC’s Mercy and Trauma. Miami Medical has been cancelled after one season on the air. However, there is some good news.
Miami Medical follows the exciting lives of a group of talented surgeons who work at one of the best trauma centers in the country. The Friday night drama features Lana Parrilla , Jeremy Northam, Omar Gooding, Mike Vogel, and Elisabeth Harnois.
The CBS medical series got off to a poor start on April 2nd with a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 7.59 million viewers. In week two, the numbers dropped to a 1.4 rating in the demo and 7.1 million viewers. Viewership has continued to tumble and thus far, the season has averaged a disappointing 1.3 rating in the demo and 6.7 million viewers.
To put these figures in perspective, Numb3rs’ season had better numbers — an average of a 1.8 rating and 8.27 million — and was ultimately cancelled.

And now, like so many of the other medical dramas from this season, Miami Medical has been cancelled. There won’t be a second season.
On the positive side, the show was scheduled to finish its run tonight, leaving five of its 13 episodes unaired. But now, CBS has added some additional airdates.
Next Friday’s will be a repeat of the pilot episode. Then, original episodes will return on June 4th, paired with new installments of Flashpoint. The last episode of Miami Medical is expected to air on July 2nd.

WHY is it when a really good show comes on tv it gets canceled? There are so many shows that should be canceled, How I Met Your Mother, Rules of Engagement, Big Bang Theory are all terrible programs and should be canceled. WHY do they still remain and this excellent show is canceled? I am very disappointed.
Yet another travesty of justice – cancellation of one of the best medical shows since ER. No, make that the ONLY good medical show since ER, and it was around for, what? Ten or 15 years, in spite of numerous cast and storyline changes. MIAMI MEDICAL has a great cast of fascinating characters, beautiful scenery, and great, different, unusual stories not previously hashed over in other shows. I LOVE Miami medical..one of the best medical shows on. The characters are great and the episodes are so realistic. WHY oh WHY do all the good shows have to be canceled? I hope another network picks it up!!!
Miami Medical should not have been cancelled. The show is intelligent, entertaining, and captivating, without resorting to scandalous sex in every other scene like *ahem* a certain medical show on ABC. I sincerely hope CBS reconsiders and keeps Miami Medical, or that a more intelligent network like USA recognizes this show’s quality and picks it up.

I hope another network picks it up. These idiots who run the networks have no idea what good television is. They never give a show a chance it was the same with Three Rivers. This show has great writers excellent actors. Hey I have an idea let’s have some more brainless reality tv. I wish I owned the network I would clean house.

This is the best new show on T.V. I liked the very first show and I knew it would be a hit. Who decides what stays on the air? Are they crazy? My husband and I look forward all week to see the next episode. Bring the show back and next time aske the people who watch it what they think! It is great!
IT IS RIDICULOUS! I love miami medical! Why do they keep cancelling all the good shows?! First The UNIT then Moonlight and now Miami Med?! UGH CBS STOP CANCELLING ALL THE GOOD SHOWS! I love this show, please don’t cancel it!!!
I believe this is a very good show. I think the timing was poor when to air it (early spring). If the show would air in the Fall, I really think it would be successful. Almost everything Jerry Bruckheimer is associated with is a success. I’d love to see it get another chance in the Fall, I think it would be a good thing.
I am so annoyed that Miami Medical is going the way of the warrior! It’s because they put it on Friday when No one is watching TV! it would have done 10 times better if they had put it on Tue I bet…I really hate all these reality shows! dance to loose weight! who freakin cares! This was a show with really good acting and awesome characters as well as kick a*s high tension writing. Im so flippin mad!!!!!! Im so sick of networks airing shows that we all enjoy and really look forward to watching and then WHAM!!!! They cancel them.. But lord knows we need more reality tv… SERIOUSLY!!!!! You have got to be kidding me! Who cares if big brother is on… or if anyone survives… survivor !! Oh.. yeah and ppl loose weight everyday.. who cares to see it on TV!! Keep the series that count like this one !!
I think this is one of the best medical shows on television. The acting is very good. Jeremy Northam in particular is exactly who I want to see as the head of the trauma unit — charming, commanding and sexy and the others aren’t too bad either! PLEASE DON’T CANCEL THIS SHOW.
It is a great Jerry Bruckheimer show! Move it to another night! Just keep it. Only weak performance at all is the young woman doctor – and she still is better than most actors on the mindnumbing comedies that stay on the air!! Please leave it on the air. Everybody I know watches it.
