Becca Winstone’s chase is over. ABC has cancelled Missing, their Thursday night TV series, after one season and 10 episodes.
Starring Ashley Judd, Missing follows a former CIA Agent turned single mom as she searches for her missing son in Europe. The action show also stars Adriano Giannini, Nick Eversman, Cliff Curtis, Tereza Voriskova, and Sean Bean.
Missing got off to a disappointing start on March 15th, registering a 2.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.60 million viewers. It was in third place for the demo and second place in total viewership.
In week two, the numbers took a significant drop, to a 1.6 rating with 8.81 million. Over the next several weeks, Missing fell lower and lower. The most recent episode hit a new low with a 1.1 demo rating and 6.37 million total viewers.

Overall, Missing’s been averaging a 1.5 rating with 7.70 million viewers. If they had more episodes in the season, those averages would surely keep sinking lower.
On our ABC Ratings Report Card, which measures the relative demo success of TV shows on the network, Missing has a “D-” for a grade. Of the 22 scripted shows on the network this season, Missing ranks 21st — just above the already-cancelled Charlie’s Angels remake.
With low ratings and steep declines, it’s no wonder that ABC decided not to renew Missing for a second season.
The series finale airs next Thursday and will hopefully include enough closure to satisfy the viewers that stuck with it.

SO UPSET IT GOT CANCELLED!!! Me and my husband just watched Season 1 in a day because it was so good and addicting! BRING IT BACK!
Apparently ABC is following NBC’s lead, and canceling anything that might resemble a good show. Also apparently the wonks who run networks had their brains scooped out with a coke spoon. I haven’t turned on my TV for 2 months, and canceled cable 2 years ago. No , I won’t watch Survivor, or any other piece of scripted trash /reality. I’m pretty much back to reading books. Another great show cancelled. I’m sure they’ll replace it with some mindless reality show. It’s a shame that such good writing and acting is cancelled to open the way for horrible television. Time to tune into another network.
I am a fan of Ashley Judd and I am going to really miss the show. It is one show that both my husband and I enjoyed. I purchased season one on DVD so we could watch it again. It let us hanging each week and looking forward to the next week. Love the show, wish it was not cancelled. I do not think there is much worth watching.
I’m SO upset that they’ve cancelled this show. What absolute idiots. Finally a good show came on with an interesting story line and great actors and now its gone. I was looking forward to season 2 – this show had everything needed for good t.v. It’s clear that a bunch of stupid half brained morons run ABC. If people prefer nonsense reality t.v nowadays as opposed to good shows like Missing, then we really are in trouble.
I am very upset that ABC has canceled another one of their shows that I loved. This is the second time that they have done this to me. I am extremely outraged by this action. This show was really genuine because it was different and not like those mind polluting, reality TV shows that we now of days pass off as good TV. I think ABC made a huge mistake!
I just found out that missing is not returning i cant believe it my daughters and i are super disappointed. What a show, full of action, suspense and even intriguing love relationships. Totally not happy!!!!! 🙁
Best “on the edge of your seat” action show that has been on for a long time. I had just gotten several family members involved watching it and now it’s gone. Give a little time for word of mouth to spread the word. Don’t know if DVR’d programs show up on the ratings but I always tape my favorites so I can play parts back and also protect myself from missing something during an interruption. Slowly but surely ABC is driving me to CBS & the CW!
This is why I am boycotting ABC!! But of course common sense isn’t all that common.
It probably was the exotic locations (my main reason for watching). A female version of the movie Taken.
I guess we have another brainless reality show with only white men and women with a couple of sprinkled colored people in for “flavor” to look forward to.

We are very disappointed to hear Missing has been cancelled. What a shame. Whatz up with that. Guess there wasn’t enough “trash” in it to make it. Typical. Wish they would change their minds and bring it back. I guess there is always hope!
It was one of the best shows to watch. It should have had a second season. ABC you are making a mistake. Bring it back.
I really liked Missing; getting afraid to commit to any new shows because they always kill them. Reality shows are booooooooring.
