CBS has yet to renew the Friday night vampire series but that’s not stopping Moonlight executive producer Joel Silver and the show’s writers. They’re already plotting Moonlight’s second season.
While promoting the upcoming Speed Racer film, Silver talked about Moonlight’s prospects for a second year on CBS. He said, “We’re hopeful… I mean, the next episode goes on next Friday night [April 25th], which is a really great episode. It starts out, Mick [Alex O’Loughlin] is still human, but then he has to go back to being a vampire. And I have three more really strong episodes. And I hope that it does come back, because we have a whole plan for next year that’s fantastic.”
The network has been on the fence about renewing Moonlight though it seems like the chances are good. Silver says that he’s scheduled to meet with CBS programming executives to talk about the show’s future. “Well, we’re going to go in, as a matter of fact, next week for a pitch meeting to tell them what we’re going to do next year.”
Based on what the programmers hear and the performance of the new episodes, they’ll decide whether Mick St. John will return to walk the streets of Los Angeles next fall. CBS announces its 2008-09 schedule in mid-May. Stay tuned! 
I just wanted to say how much I am looking forward to the next season of Moonlight. I can hardly wait for it to air. I am wondering when we can expect the new season to start? This is one of the best shows on TV, right up there with Cane which some idiot decided to cancel. Hopefully you have more intelligent people working for the next season of Moonlight.

i cant believe this show is being cancelled…….i live in australia n love moonlight eversince it was shown..n got angry when channel 7 took out the show…..i have been looking for moonlights episode n read the episodes guide….gosh!!!!! i am so pissed at CW..they do this all the time….

Moonlight season 1 has just finished and i was gutted.
So much to the fact that I’ve been searching and searching fro videos, pictures, everything just to keep into it.
I searched on google, only to find that there may not be a second series.
THERE NEEDS TO BE A SECOND SEASON. I demand it.
If they don’t, I will have nothing to watch on a friday night.
SO PLEEEEASE !! with a cherry on top.

THEY CAN’T STOP IT! I’m addicted to anything dealing with Vampires. And this show is the only show about them on t.v. If they end this show I won’t have no series to watch…..AND O’loughlin, BETTER be coming back….otherwise, I won’t watch it.

I love Moonlight. Its my favorite show on television right now. Give it a chance. It won the peoples choice award! Listen to the people! The writers strike really screwed things up for this show. It deserve a second season. Several of my neighbors watch this show and some of my friends too. After Ghost Whisperer its a perfect line up.

Moonlight has so much potential for season two! I must agree with Kavala, Greece, if we don’t get to see season two there’s going to be a prolific rate of artery biting ( or perhaps just a drop in CBS’ viewership, which I’m sure CBS would consider to be worse ; ] ).

I think that CBS is a f***ing idiot for dropping Moonlight. I know for a fact that they will be losing several viewers on Friday night. I’m wiling to go to what ever channel that picks up the Moonlight series.
Moonlight is the best show ever. I normally do not watch CBS that much. But Fridays are the best night of TV on CBS with Moonlight and Ghost Whisperer. Do not cancel Moonlight. Congrats to the writers of the show they are the best. I also am wanting to buy the 1st episode of Moonlight on DVD.
