Nashville will air an all-new episode on ABC later tonight, but fans know the end is near. The network cancelled the series last week, but there is still hope. With the people behind the series actively looking for a new home, it is possible that the series could return for a fifth season.
However, Connie Britton has already shared a message with her fans about the cancellation of the series on social media. She shared the following message after the news broke, according to TV Line:
“To the amazing friends and family who are Nashville, to the cast and crew, and most of all to the fans…I’d just like to say it’s been my honor to be a part of this world, to live in it and breathe it in and try to replicate it. Sometimes we were more successful than others. But the place of Nashville in my heart is deep and permanent. I am grateful for the hard work and faith of so many who dedicated themselves to creating and supporting this show. And I am forever changed for the better. Thanks for the music.”
According to TV Guide, the actress also spoke about the cancellation of the series on a talk show appearance earlier this week. Nashville has been a big part of her life. She has raised her adopted son there since 2011. She said the following:
“I’ll talk to my Nashville friends, and they’re all devastated. It’s a real bummer also for the town too. I’m going to miss those people so much. I’m so upset, then I talk to my friends in L.A., and they’re like, ‘We’re so happy you’re coming home.’ So I’m just like, I don’t know what I feel! [My son is] 5, and we’ve been doing the show there for four years, so it’s a big deal. It’s over. The end of an era. I think he’s going to just ditch me now because he’s like, ‘I’m staying in Nashville now. These people are cool. I’m learning how to play the drums. See you later.'”
The finale for the series will air next Wednesday night. Do you want another network to come in and save Nashville from the grim reaper? Tell us what you think.

Yes, please! Don’t let Nashville go off the air for good. It’s an awesome show.
Nashville is the best show ever! It confronts real issues. I look forward ever week. Please someone pick it back up.
Omigosh, I cried so hard tonight as I watched my favorite show, just thinking that Nashville has been cancelled! I love this show and look forward to the characters and the music and all the storylines! Please, please, please keep it on! We have even booked a tour in Nashville for June 2nd to see where “Nashville” is filmed. Will that be cancelled as well? This is a travesty!
This is total crap! The show is one of my favorites! I have watched every episode. Someone needs to rethink sonething. I am i shock right now!!!
How disappointing. Music great. Acting terrific. Story lines entertaining. I always wonder who the networks are trying to please and why they don’t know their audience. Hope it can come back for another season. Too many loose ends for a quality series finale. Best of luck to the cast and crew.
Noooooo! This is one of my favorite shows. Fingers crossed another network picks them up. Too good to let go!
I have enjoyed the show so much and hate they r cancelling it. It seems when a really down to earth good show comes on they cancel it. I get so frustrated with this. I would much rather watch this than scandal, which I also watch, but I enjoy Nashville so much more!!
I’m really hoping Nashville will find a network to take them so series can continue. There are still too many stories to tell. Please please pray it will renew.
Replace the new President of the network. This is a very bad decision. I look forward every week to watching Nashville and Castle. Adding comedy shows to replace these two shows is a major mistake. I sincerely hope the executives at another network pick up both shows which have a large fan base.
This is one of the best series on television! Well acted, complex characters, fantastic music. All in a fantastic rich setting. I have lost all respect for ABC for canceling such a great show. They’ve lost me for good..I hope another network has the sense to pick it up!
This is one show I look forward to every week. So sad to hear it has been canceled. I hope someone picks up the show. I will miss Castle as well!
I’m almost wordless, I can’t believe they would consider canceling the series. I never miss the show, I will miss my friends, and I will follow them there has to be a very smart network willing to pick up the series, please don,t let this end.
Yes, please find a new home for this great show. I love it, the story lines are so good and the music is great!! A lot of my friends and family watch it and feel the same way!!! We need a season 5!!!!
Again, ABC?? I have NO IDEA what formula you people in TV Land use to ax or keep shows!?!?! Nashville is a great show and was always fun to recap with the gang at work! Please seriously reconsider this cancellation! I mean Mistresses is coming back, for Pete’s sake, and Once Upon a Time is still droning on! Nashville is well worth keeping, even if your viewers aren’t! Same thing with Mike and Molly on CBS! So sad!!
Please save Nashville! Another network should pick it up. It’s a wonderful show.
