Nashville will air an all-new episode on ABC later tonight, but fans know the end is near. The network cancelled the series last week, but there is still hope. With the people behind the series actively looking for a new home, it is possible that the series could return for a fifth season.
However, Connie Britton has already shared a message with her fans about the cancellation of the series on social media. She shared the following message after the news broke, according to TV Line:
“To the amazing friends and family who are Nashville, to the cast and crew, and most of all to the fans…I’d just like to say it’s been my honor to be a part of this world, to live in it and breathe it in and try to replicate it. Sometimes we were more successful than others. But the place of Nashville in my heart is deep and permanent. I am grateful for the hard work and faith of so many who dedicated themselves to creating and supporting this show. And I am forever changed for the better. Thanks for the music.”
According to TV Guide, the actress also spoke about the cancellation of the series on a talk show appearance earlier this week. Nashville has been a big part of her life. She has raised her adopted son there since 2011. She said the following:
“I’ll talk to my Nashville friends, and they’re all devastated. It’s a real bummer also for the town too. I’m going to miss those people so much. I’m so upset, then I talk to my friends in L.A., and they’re like, ‘We’re so happy you’re coming home.’ So I’m just like, I don’t know what I feel! [My son is] 5, and we’ve been doing the show there for four years, so it’s a big deal. It’s over. The end of an era. I think he’s going to just ditch me now because he’s like, ‘I’m staying in Nashville now. These people are cool. I’m learning how to play the drums. See you later.'”
The finale for the series will air next Wednesday night. Do you want another network to come in and save Nashville from the grim reaper? Tell us what you think.

What is wrong with them?? Why would they cancel such a wildly popular show???
Please find a new home for Nashville tv show! Love it! Great new music artists and drama and wonderful actors! What more could you want?! Please don’t take this terrific show, Nashville off the air! Thank you.
What the???? I just watched THE ONLY SHOW I watch every week tonight only to hear they are cancelling it after next week. This is a great show that deals with some very real issues, alcoholism, gay acceptance in the country arena, complicated relationships AND the talent pool is unbelievable! I’ve been bragging about the talent from the first episode, and if they’ve done one thing wrong, is they got away from showcasing the incredible talent from my two favorites, Scarlet and Gunnar, to Juliette Barnes, Avery, Will Lexington, Maddie and Daphne and so on!!! SOMEBODY PICK THIS SHOW UP… Read more »
Don’t cancel another great series. I will just completely abandon abc for nbc. Stupid decision.
My husband & I are big Country Music fans so this show was perfect because of the music & a glimpse into Nashville entertainment life!! We were fans of Connie bBritton from Friday NightLights,me being from Texas& all!!! So,losing Nashville now to is quite a blow!! It is such a good drama & Music show!!! Just a joy to watch on hump day!!! Please bring the show back hopefully to a channel that is available to all!!!
Please don’t cancel the show!!
I hated country music until I started watching this show and I am sad to see it go but I have noticed they seem to be playing less music then they did in the begging of the show. I hope another network pics it’s up and concentrates more on the music then the drama. You can have the drama just don’t make it consume the show or make the drama keep repeating to where it’s predictable.
Nashville is one of the most creative, deep, powerful and captivating shows on the air!! This represents a HUGE loss to music and TV culture, BUT it’s also an opportunity for another network to PLEASE pick it up!! I recently saw the cast perform in concert in New York at the Theater at Madison Square Garden and the amount of talent- both acting and musical- is beyond words. Every inch of the theater was packed with fans who love the show!! It’s a rare cultural phenomenon for the perfect group of actors/musicians/writers/etc. to come together for such a project. I’m so devastated of just hearing of the cancellation of Nashville!!! I sure hope another network will pick this up. Why was it cancelled, I know there is a huge fan base. I understand if they all want to pursue doing music elsewhere but they can schedule around taping right? I know Johnathan Jackson is playing here in town with his band and I’m definitely going to see him! I’m not much on country music but the show has definitely changed my mind!!!
A week’s notice to cancel Nashvilles, such a magnificent series certainly shows the heads of the TV Station don’t care about the folks who watch their station faithfully week after week for a great series even putting up with all the commercials that continue to grow and grow!!! I love the actors, music & story line for Nashville – some of the other series nowadays don’t compare!!! I hope they will reconsider and keep Nashville on the air – from a little 69 year old country gal from South Texas
Nashville is my favorite show! Why cancel it? Please maybe lifetime or hallmark will pick it up, local networks are idiots!
eIve loved the series, but lately, the writers were making It depressing. Everyone is fighting. There are fewer happy events than when the series began. Seems like no one was getting along . fighting for the sake of fighting. I ended shows feeling depressed. While, I loved the series, it was getting old and pointless. New writers are needed.
Why are they canceling Nashville? Of all the trash on tv today this show has been a bright light! Great story lines amazing actors and talent! These people are fantastic! This is a huge loss for abc! Bad choice. I really hope someone picks them up!
Omg pleassssse save it!!! PLEASE!!
What are you people thinking? Finally there is a great show on ABC then you go and cancel it.
TV shows like Nashville have become scarce.
What is possible reason for this? Nashville has such an awesome cast with talent.
I’m so sick of the reality shows & talk shows!
I hope another network picks this up, just to show ABC what a huge mistake they have made!
