Nashville will air an all-new episode on ABC later tonight, but fans know the end is near. The network cancelled the series last week, but there is still hope. With the people behind the series actively looking for a new home, it is possible that the series could return for a fifth season.
However, Connie Britton has already shared a message with her fans about the cancellation of the series on social media. She shared the following message after the news broke, according to TV Line:
“To the amazing friends and family who are Nashville, to the cast and crew, and most of all to the fans…I’d just like to say it’s been my honor to be a part of this world, to live in it and breathe it in and try to replicate it. Sometimes we were more successful than others. But the place of Nashville in my heart is deep and permanent. I am grateful for the hard work and faith of so many who dedicated themselves to creating and supporting this show. And I am forever changed for the better. Thanks for the music.”
According to TV Guide, the actress also spoke about the cancellation of the series on a talk show appearance earlier this week. Nashville has been a big part of her life. She has raised her adopted son there since 2011. She said the following:
“I’ll talk to my Nashville friends, and they’re all devastated. It’s a real bummer also for the town too. I’m going to miss those people so much. I’m so upset, then I talk to my friends in L.A., and they’re like, ‘We’re so happy you’re coming home.’ So I’m just like, I don’t know what I feel! [My son is] 5, and we’ve been doing the show there for four years, so it’s a big deal. It’s over. The end of an era. I think he’s going to just ditch me now because he’s like, ‘I’m staying in Nashville now. These people are cool. I’m learning how to play the drums. See you later.'”

Very disappointing that this show is cancelled. Enjoyed the music, writing and especially the actors. This was a real bright spot in a pretty dim landscape of reality/sitcoms/junk
It’s a big mistake to cancel Nashville. Some of the best music today has come from this show. It’s a shame many of the longest running shows are about crime, medical and mediocre comedies. Nashville was refreshing because it was different than the rest. Again, I must state it is a big mistake to end this show so soon.

OMG! Finally a terrific TV show that has it all and it cancelled? Who makes such horrible decisions? Everyone I know loved and watched the show every Wednesday night like a church service! I revolt ABC for this! Hopefully they will be picked up by another Channel so we can keep Nashville in our hearts and our world for many years to come! Someone make this happen PLEASE!!!
Nashville is one of the greatest shows I’ve ever watched. The talent that all the musicians have on the show is amazing. It annoys me that such a good show like Nashville gets cancelled. Please, please try and find another network/cabel company to pick you up. Perhaps Amazon, Apple, or Netflix. I will miss all of you and thank you for the many hours of amazing music you brought into my home. Good luck to all of you.
This is unbelievable! There’s so much left unsaid! I mean at least give them a two hour slot to bring the storylines to a close. I’m so pissed off! I’m praying that a network will pick them up
Please please some other network…pick up this show!!! One of the best on TV for the last 4 years…ABC is making a BIG mistake!! There’s many more story lines to go…please keep it on the air!!
Please dont cancel. These musicians are wonderful. I find so little to watch on tv anymore. It is so different from cops,lawyers and doctor shows.
Watched Nashville tonight and was devastated to hear the words series finally. So disappointed with the decision to end this great series.

What a crying shame. Great cast of talented actors/musicians and wonderful piece of Nashville. One of my favorite TV shows and I will miss it terribly. What can they be thinking? Please someone with insight into what the viewers hold in high esteem pick up this hit and save the day! Please.
I can’t understand the networks cancelling a show like Nashville. Hopefully a cable channel will know what is good programming and keep Nashville going.
