“To see what the fans did to bring Nashville back was really moving.” CMT recently released a video of the Nashville cast thanking fans for saving the show, TVGuide reports.
Earlier this year, ABC cancelled the country music drama. The decision sparked a massive fan campaign to rescue the show, which resulted in CMT picking it up for a fifth season.
In the video, star Connie Britton says the whole cast and crew are thankful for the fans:
To see what the fans did to bring Nashville back was really moving, and it makes us just feel really grateful and also really like we want to do this justice. We want to bring you the best that we can bring you.”
Season five of Nashville debuts on January 5th.

What do you think? Are you a fan of Nashville? Are you excited for the new season?
I would have watched without her if she left to go on tour, but that kind of tear jerker scene they pulled just infuriates me. I watch shows to be entertained, not to cry, so since they snuck that in with no warning I’ll never watch it again.
I am ecstatic that Nashville has been picked up by CMT. Kudos to CMT. I and several of my friends have gotten together weekly to watch the next episode. We’re in our 70’s! A musical drama. The best. Thank you, CMT!
Absolutely delighted to learn Nashville resurrected!!!!! Favourite show
