The rookies of NYC 22 won’t be honing their police skills on CBS much longer. The network has cancelled the cop series before the entire season has finished airing.
NYC 22 follows a half dozen police men and women as they learn the ropes in the Big Apple. The ensemble cast includes Adam Goldberg, Leelee Sobieski, Stark Sands, Judy Marte, Harold House Moore, Felix Solis, Tom Reed, and Terry Kinney.
Debuting on April 15th, in (now-cancelled) CSI: Miami’s former timeslot, NYC 22 attracted a disappointing 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 8.86 million viewers. The second episode dropped 7% and the third fell 14% more. Last Sunday night’s episode maintained a 1.2 in the demo and 6.87 million.
It was clear from the start that this new show was doomed to be cancelled.
The series currently averages a 1.3 rating in the all-important demo with 7.67 million viewers. On our CBS Ratings Report Card, which measures the relative demo performance of TV shows on the network, NYC 22 has an “F” grade. It’s the lowest-rated scripted show currently on the network.
The Tiffany network ordered 13 installments of NYC 22 and, for the foreseeable future, they’ll continue to air on Sunday nights.
What do you think? Are you going to miss NYC 22? Do you think it should have been renewed for season two?
Great show I hope another network picks it up like TBS did for Southland
You must really be bored if you think NYC 22 is “great”. Come on my 3 year old could come up with something better than THAT stupid crap!!!!
I like this show. Vegas is a non starter. It is DOA. Give NYC22 anoyher chance.
Stupid, glad its cancelled…already have a show just like it on the tube. Rookie Blue had my heart before these guys showed up…but they did have some good actors… Sorry guys
I’m with you Cindy, it is 100 percent stupid
Just finished watching the two back-to-back episodes. Its good stuff! What idiots cancel this? Give it a new timeslot, try something…
Every time I invest time on a CBS show they pull the plug. All the shows this year were axed. Why don’t you give shows a chance? I am watching NYC 22 right now. This is so much better than crap like Big Brother and Glass House. I guess you’re going along with the dumbing down of America. Maybe you should look at another demographic. You suck at presenting new series. No more CBS for me.
Come on cbs bring nyc 22 back that the only show I watched on your network
NYC 22 IS THE BEST POLICE SHOW TO COME ON IN FIVE YEARS PLEASE KEEP IT ON SAT. IS A GOODNIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
typical for cbs, unforgettable was pretty decent, and i loved Gifted man.Naturlly cbs cancelled both, and Miami, which was still viewable and kept csi:ny.which imo died long ago.
I think my main issue with cbs is they don’t give shows a chance.
Just got done watching two new episodes back to back ,thought they were really good, and now find out it’s cancelled.
If it wasn’t for the two NCIS and Minds,I’d drop cbs for good. They never even show reruns once they cancel a show,so we can’t even relive the moments one last time
this show should not have been cancelled it wasn’t even i even a chance
Liked this program a lot with great line up of actors. Incorporated diversity among the cast. Too bad it’s cancelled with so much trash on TV ie so called reality crap.
How can you cancel it after 1 month????? Give it a chance..
I only saw 2 shows and heard it was canceled. It was much bet than any of the realty shows that are on. Sad move.
Y…did they cancel my show. The show was awesome.. every Sunday i was looking forward to this show.
CBS FRUSTRATES ME!!! I don’t get a lot of quiet adult time and when I finally do they pull the plug on shows I actually look forward too! First they screwed up “The Talk” now cancelling NYC 22?! And yet they keep Big Brother??? There’s no logic. I can’t support this network because I don’t have any confidence in their ability to make good solid decisions based on what viewers want to see. Too many shows that I have really enjoyed just dropped or significantly changed to the detriment of my loyalty. Once again I turn the channel and forget… Read more »
Too bad that the hot shots sitting in their offices make snap decisions – – CBS boasts that its “the most watched” . . . well, not by me – – but I was starting to give it a chance with great shows like Undercover Boss, Blue Bloods and then, on Sundays, NYC 22 – – now I’m giving up on CBS – – again, those who make such decisions on cancelling shows should take a survey or poll and THINK BEFORE THEY THINK/ACT – – BRING BACK NYC22 – – PLEASE!!!
