The Originals will return to the small screen in March with its fourth season. Is a fifth season possible? Or will this series end with season four?
Mark Pedowitz spoke about the future of the CW series at the TCA’s over the weekend, and a fifth season is possible. He said the following about The Originals, per Entertainment Weekly:
“Julie [Plec] and I spoke ahead of time about this. The Originals has not yet premiered for the season. It’ll probably be a discussion in May. I’m a big Julie Plec fan. I’m hoping The Originals will continue. A lot of it will depend on performance.”
When The Originals returns, the action will pick up five years after the end of season three, and the Mikaelsons will face a new foe.

OMG YES!!! I love love love it! It is my other Top favorite (Walking dead) These two shows I will not miss an episode!! Nic is the most sexiest bad boy vamp ever and we must not be deprived of such greatness!

Please don’t cancel the show. Loved the characters from Vampire Dairies and was happy that you created a show to tell the Originals storyline. This has a great fan following…don’t cancel!!!!
I LOVE the show…and I have LOVED Nick since Vampire Diaries…and Elijah is scrumptious….PLZ dont let it end!!!!…maybe Amazon or Netflix can pick it up if CW dont or want…but it has a loyal following and I have bought every season that has come out .

Most definitely, fantastic show, great characters viewers want to see how story unfurls tv companies constantly get viewers hooked on a great show then just decide to can it. Very frustrating.

I totally AGREE, but it was one of the lower rated shows on the CW for the past 2yrs so lets hope this upcoming season will change that and TVD viewers will spill over to TO to give it the rating bust it needs to stay in the top 5 shows and keep getting renewed.
