Discovery Communication’s Velocity, a cable network for men who love cars, airs its world premiere of the final season of Overhaulin‘, November 4 at 9 PM ET/PT. Overhaulin’, hosted by Chip Foose, will air four final episodes, before series end. While no one is saying the show is cancelled, the press release makes it clear that Overhaulin’ is driving to its final destination — a TV series finale. For fans, there is little difference between an ending and an official cancellation.
The four-episode season nine kicks off with special guests Johnny Depp and Amber Heard (and her 1968 red Ford Mustang) appearing in the season nine premiere, and once more, before the series finale.

Velocity Says Goodbye to Iconic Automotive Series OVERHAULIN’ With Star-Studded Final Episodes
Hollywood Stars Johnny Depp and Amber Heard Star in the First of Four Final Episodes Beginning Wednesday, November 4 at 9 PM ET/PT Only on Velocity
This November, Velocity is taking OVERHAULIN’, the series that embodies the emotional connection between man and machine, for one last ride. As the series makes its way into the garage one final time, Velocity is celebrating the undeniable legacy of OVERHAULIN’ with four all-new episodes, two of which feature movie stars Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, and retired U.S. Navy SEAL and “Lone Survivor” co-author Marcus Luttrell. Additionally, Velocity is dipping into series history with a special “Say It Ain’t OVERHAULIN’” marathon that counts down fans’ 20 favorite episodes since the franchise began in 2004.
“OVERHAULIN’ has left an indelible mark on television audiences and car culture over the past 11 years,” said Robert Scanlon, General Manager of Velocity and Automotive Content. “Chip Foose and his team have made so many dreams come true, creating unforgettable cars and TV moments. We’re sad to see the series come to a close, but as car lovers we’re excited to appreciate the beauty of Chip’s creations and the powerful legacy of OVERHAULIN’ from afar.”
Since 2004 OVERHAULIN’ has changed the lives of more than 100 car owners by transforming their beloved but rundown rides. Through the years countless family members and friends have surprised their deserving loved ones with the amazing imagination of renowned car designer Chip Foose, the cunning of co-host Chris Jacobs and the hard work of the A-Team that have defined the OVERHAULIN’ franchise.
In the first of the final four episodes, Academy Award nominee Johnny Depp enlists the help of Foose, Jacobs, co-hosts Arianny Celeste and Adrienne Janic, and the A-Team to overhaul his wife’s beloved 1967 Ford Mustang. For more than a decade, Depp’s wife, Amber Heard, has cherished the ’68 Mustang. Since then the car has been stolen twice and fallen into disrepair. With guidance from Heard’s father, Depp turns to Foose and the team to surprise Amber with a Mustang that’s been brought back to life with the classic OVERHAULIN’ touch. New episodes of OVERHAULIN’ world premiere on Velocity Wednesday, November 4 at 9 PM ET/PT.
In addition to the final episodes Velocity is taking a ride down memory lane with “Say It Ain’t OVERHAULIN’”, a two day marathon of viewers’ favorite episodes on Saturday, November 14 and Sunday, November 15 beginning at 2 PM ET/PT. Audiences will enjoy the top 20 highest-rated episodes of the series that reach back as far as 2004 for an episode featuring a 1952 GMC Truck, as well as deserving builds of a 1964 Impala from season three, a 1970 El Camino from season six, a classic 1957 Corvette and much more.

What do you think? Did you watch Velocity’s show, Overhaulin’? Would you have watched a tenth season?
Mr chip Foose, I pretty much think your an incredible artist car builder. I live in Australia, and was wondering if there was any chance of you Over Haulin, my BA falcon Ute, Americans may call it a flat bed pick up.I’m no one special but would greatly appreciate the hand up
A show loved by millions needs to come back on regulare
I would definitely watch more Overhauling .
my son and I watch OVERHAULIN all the time and enjoy it. I don’t suppose your taking on any more cars. I was hopping to get the VW parts out of my living room
Chip and his “CREW” many times have brought tears to my eyes. I’m 73 yrs old now and recently moved 40 miles south of Nashville. I spent most of my life in and around Cypress, CA. so the Huntington Beach and surrounding areas the series is shot is so familiar. Like Chris, I love the MOPARS from the mid 1960’s. I served two tours in Vietnam and am totally disabled now. So many times I wished I had my 1965 Plymouth or 1967 Mustang fastback that I owned way back and was fortunate enough to be chosen by Chip for… Read more »
Please let me know when and if they start taking new applications
Very sad this is your last season, my husbend as a nice 55 Chevy wagon he needs help with 2005 he had a stroke, then three different cancers and just moved to Big River Calif 92242 we were here 1 month and got another cancer leukemia he is finly home now after 36 years with his 55 he still can’t do his car his wife Helen Garcia
Can we still get maybe one or two new episodes a year?? Is fans can’t get enough of the show, still love seeing Chip perform his miracles and love the Back story of “The Mark” even though the format has changed over the seasons, we still love the back story. There is something so wonderful about seeing a well deserving person have their dream come true. Maybe Chip and the network which is now Motortrend will come to an agreement and bring the fans a few episodes a year so Chip Foose is able to continue running his businesses and… Read more »
Please don’t cancel Overhauling! My husband loves watching the show. He always wished they would come to Ohio. He is a proud Vietnam veteran! He has a 1969 mustang but is unable to find a rear fastback window. So after the government took away his agent orange disability becauwe they said his diabetes was now type 1 not type 2 and no longer covered under agent orange. So consequently, he gave up restoring his Mustang due to a lack of funds. But he enjoys watching the great job the crew does in restoring the vehicles. He watches car programs every… Read more »
Yes it’s the dream of a lifetime, continue the miracles!
Hell yes I would have watched that show. They did amazing work…..
Great show, I will really miss watching it. I hope viewers responses might help these guys come back in a while. The cast was one of the greatest if not THE Greatest on all of these shows. Thanks for the many hours of not only entertainment but lessons on “How To”. I have a ’92 Camaro RS that needs work and it has been a fantasy of mine to get it on the show. I can’t afford to do all that it needs because of raising 2 Grandchildren and recently 2 Nephews. As I’m sure all will agree, family has… Read more »
Just watched a rerun of Overhaulin, the best, the best, the best. I hated to see it go. But you could see it coming over the years. From stealing cars and getting them done in one week. “Overcrazy” had to be way to much for the A Team. So then they surprised the owners and had a few weeks to complete the project. Again a huge commitment from Chip and the A Team. And to try and keep that size group together had to be tough. Velocity owes its existence to Chip Foose I hope he’s part owner of the… Read more »
I was sorry to see ‘Overhaulin’ cancelled. Was hoping Chip Foose & A Team come to Australia again. My husband an ex Vietnam Veteran has a ’72 VH Charger, would have liked Chip to look at it for restoration. He wants it back to original condition but the cost to do so is out of our budget. Some day maybe! anyway loved the Show, sad it has gone, great Man great Crew.
I would have watched 10 more years of Overhaulin’. WHAT A CREW! Good family show and not full of bleeping. Thank you. Anytime Overhaulin’ wants to come back, I will definitely be waiting.
I truly enjoyed the Overhaulin show. I would have liked more of the rebuild from
the team, and more of Foose’s drawings.
My only negative comment would be about the heavy and loud sound(music?) in
the background cancelling out quite a bit of the conversations.
