It seems like TBS has become the home for offbeat comedy series and People of Earth certainly fills the bill. Their other TV shows have drawn very low ratings. Some have been cancelled after one season while others have survived. Could People of Earth become a hit in the ratings? Will it be cancelled or renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
A comedy TV show, People of Earth follows a skeptical journalist named Ozzie Graham (Wyatt Cenac) who investigates a support group to write about the member’s supposed alien encounters. This outsider finds himself drawn into this eclectic group of misfits as he finds himself identifying with some of their experiences. The rest of the cast includes Ana Gasteyer, Oscar Nuñez, Michael Cassidy, Alice Wetterlund, Luka Jones, Brian Huskey, Nancy Lenehan, Tracee Chimo, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Björn Gustafsson, and Ken Hall.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
12/13 update: TBS has renewed People of Earth for a second season. Details here.

What do you think? Do you like the People of Earth TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Why is it every time a good show comes on the air it doesn’t last more than 1 or 2 seasons, it makes me sick at what shows end remaining on the air. We loved this quirky, funny and charming show. It was fun to watch, my husband and I would looked forward to see what was going to happen in the next episode. And now it is gone – wish they could find a channel that would continue this adorable show.
Season 2 rocks as well! We love Jeff, he’s such a dweeb, and every character is brilliantly funny and charming. Even the Cube (Eric) can steal scenes…
