This season, CBS has moved Person of Interest to Tuesday nights. Will the ratings fall off as a result or will they grow because of a stronger lead-in? Let’s wait and see.
On Person of Interest, former CIA officer John Reese (Jim Caviezel) and billionaire Harold Finch (Michael Emerson) continue to work together to prevent violent crimes in the Big Apple. Taraji P. Henson, Kevin Chapman, Sarah Shahi, and Amy Acker round out the cast.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
3/13 update: This show has been renewed for the 2014-15 season by CBS.
Final season averages: 2.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 11.83 million total viewers.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The second season of Person of Interest averaged a 2.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 14.41 million total viewers.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the Person of Interest TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a fourth season?
I have watched Person of Interest from day one and will continue to watch it! It is entertaining and love the twists and turns in it. If I had one negative to say it would be…put it on at 9:00!!!!! How do you expect an audience to be avid viewers when you put the show on at 10:00 at night?
I have watched P of I from day 1. It does what shows and movies are suppose to do, Entertain. For one hour I am engrossed in a program that one moment I’m really made and hoping that the bad guys get what they deserve. Then that good old feeling when the good guys win.
The script writers are failing to keep the show alive. Also on any night the 10-11 o’clock hour is hard because ppl have to get up to work.I always have to use my D.V.R. but I always watch it.I’ve never been bored but the last show of the season sucked. They destroyed the library and have everyone going different ways. It’s like killing the show but in reality it’s a GREAT show! The concept is excellent and the actor’s are great! It’s time to get rid of the writers and bring in fresh talent.I think Monday around 8 would be a great time… Read more »
I enjoyed Person of Interest when it first came out and have watched it through the years faithfully. But the story lines to me with each week has gotten weirder and stranger. The story lines in the pass several weeks has not captured my attention. I enjoyed the prior plots these new episodes are not entertaining at all. The final episode has me wondering do I dare tune in next season to see it.
best tv show on, the story line this year has been fast pase and very good, sorry to see carter go i liked her but the story has to develop. keep them coming less root and that might help a bit.
I truly love watching the show one of the best shows ever especially after the season finally it was truly amazing the way it ended and am looking forward a season 4 there’s has to be because if Samaritan is online is that machine gonna help or being taken advantage of and what’s gonna happen to the real machine is she still online or what ?
I watch POI EVERY WEEK. I enjoyed it more when Carter was on it and liked the story line better then. Hope it’s not cancelled and I also hope they get back to the old storyline of just helping people.
Do not like the fact they did not put an African American in. My mom and I watched it every week when Taraji P. Henson was in it. I found out after she left that she was not even a star in it. That’s the way it goes though.
Note to Forevergrateful: All three (!) African Americans were either killed off — Carter, her boyfriend, and HR was put in jail, which CBS does frequently.
Would love to see my favorite show renewed. The stories are great and the story idea unique. Please consider renewing it for another year.

This is the only show that I watch faithfully. It is unique in the concept and the characters. You never know what is going to happen, that peaks your interest every week. I don’t understand how this quality of a show doesn’t outweigh the other trash and nonsense on television. KEEP IT ON FOR ALONG TIME!!!
There is an “elephant” in the Person of Interest room. This massive animal respresents the horrendous (almost 33%) decline in ratings for the 18-49 demographic and a more than 17% decline in viewership for the show, season to date. Those with blinders on continue to espouse the greatness of this drama, when in reality, a lot of people bailed on it after the writers pulled a “bait and switch” on the plot lines and the cast was changed. Ratings will continue to decline and nothing can be done to make this show more popular. Predicting season four will be the… Read more »
I agree 1000%.
what are you talking about the cast person that is missing is carter
the original cast was Harold, John, Fusco and Carter. It is now Harold, Root, Shaw, John and Fusco. The cast change has resulted in a machine v. machine story line now instead of the robin hood aspect. and it obviously has turned people off if the rating are down that much.
Agree with you 100%. I like the original cast and the original storyline. The show hasn’t been on that many years to even think about changing it up. They have gone off the deep end with this machine vs. machine thing. Very disappointed.
Best tv show being aired. Never miss it! Can’t stand all the so called reality shows.craaapp!!!
Renew please. I just like this one. Keeps my interest, no nodding off to sleep. I want to see more.
Too bad more people do not watch and enjoy Person Of Interest. If they did, perhaps the ratings would not be so dismal.
Absolutely love this show and ALL cast of characters. I love the additions of Shaw and Root as they make it fun and if I,m going to sit down and watch TV , then it has 2 b fun and captivating, This show totally captivates me and I look 4ward to the show each week.
