NBC has been promoting Persons Unknown as a mini-series and that the show’s mysteries will be answered by the end. The show has not performed well in the ratings so hopefully the network will let all 13 episodes air.
If they do pull the series early, the show is scheduled to be put out on DVD. According to Amazon, it’s scheduled for an August 31st release but that’s likely to change because NBC won’t have aired all of the episodes until early September.
Some readers have noticed that the DVD set is titled Persons Unknown: The Complete First Season
Executive Producer Remi Aubuchon recently told Collider that, when they were shooting it, they did so believing it would be an on-going series. Though they wanted it to go on, he made sure that they answered all of the questions by the end of the first season, to make it a satisfying story for viewers.
Could there be another season? Aubuchon said, “It’s not unheard of, in the course of life, that if there’s enough interest in it, we could consider going a second season or doing another chapter. I keep looking at it as books in a series, and this season is the first book. I feel confident that we will have a beginning, middle and end, in this season, and it was wise of NBC to then call it what it really is, which is a mini-series.”
He continued, “24 is a really good example, in that there was a definitive beginning, middle and end for the first season. They had a slightly different format than we have, but the second season just retained Jack Bauer and a few other players, with the same basic format and idea, but it was a completely different show. I’m not saying that that’s exactly where we’re going, but certainly I think that there’s room for saying, ‘Hey, look, we told one story of a continuing saga.’ You should be able to pick this book up and get to the last line of the season and go, ‘Wow! Well, I hope there’s a second season, but at least I feel satisfied that I got to see all of this. They answered it all for me.”
Unfortunately, it looks unlikely that NBC would be interested in another season but that doesn’t mean it couldn’t return on another channel or in another form.

We want this show to continue!!!! We watched every show in the first season! Who up there at NBC is making the decisions to cancel these shows? We are tired of our favorite shows getting canceled. Someone is NOT in touch with the viewing public and has not been for sometime now. We are at the point where if it comes on NBC we are now flipping to another channel because he are tired of our shows being canceled. NBC you need to get a new person in charge of programing and bring back our shows. PERSONS UNKNOWN FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Started watching this on NBC. Then it got switched to a different night and missed a few. But just found it on Netflix. Watched from begining to end. I love it. Me and my husband need more. Season two…bring it on! Please!!

Just got down with the first season from Netfilx. Sooooo loved it and wish there was a 2 season! Its the next Prison Brake that I love. Hope to see more of Persons Unknown in the future. Fan for life!

So I stayed at my grandparents about two weekends ago. They just got netflix and my grandpa was messing around with it when I woke up. I wasn’t paying attention to what he was doing when he turned the show on- but I started watching and I couldn’t stop! Everyone else in the house eventually got up and litterally- we spent that entire Sunday watching the WHOLE first season! We absolutely loved it! I really liked the show and hope it does continue. It left out hanging, I really wanted to see what happened with the husband and the girlfriend now being apart of the team. It was a really good show.
Our entire family was glued to the tv each and every week waiting to see what would happen next and wondering if these characters would ever find their way home. To take it off the air is not only wrong but a slap in the face to those of us who rearranged our schedules as to not miss this show. It has to come back and maybe at a time when the world isn’t so preoccupied with tragedy and major sporting events. Love this show! It evolved every week into new details about the characters. Kept me wanting to come back for more! Please continue the show for a second season – I miss it!
One word can some up this show…amazing!, this was most definatly the best thing on tv if this carried on it would be bigger than “lost” and “24”. Honestly i dont understand how someone can make a show so gripping, and that leaves you wanting more, then not carry it on for another season! Bring it back!
There HAS to be a Season 2!! I absolutely loved this show!! The ending is NOT an ending. It literally makes you feel like you’re going to die if you don’t know what happens on level 2!! And how the heck is Joe gonna play level 1 with Marc Cooper?? Marc knows who he is! Come on! Season 2!!! Pleeeeeeeease!
