ANIMAL PLANET’S “PIT BULLS & PAROLEES” CELEBRATES 100th EPISODE MILESTONE ON SATURDAY, JANUARY 2
– Network Renews Fan-favorite Series for Eighth Season with 10 New Episodes in Fall 2016 –
– Special After Show Hosted by Fox Sports TV Personality and Pit Bull Advocate Jay Glazer to Air Immediately Following 100th Episode from Villalobos Rescue Center –
(New York) – Tia Torres has been the face of pit bull advocacy for more than 20 years and has elevated the discussion of breed discrimination to the national level ever since PIT BULLS & PAROLEES first premiered on Animal Planet in 2009. Throughout the past seven seasons, viewers have witnessed Tia and her family band together to overcome natural disasters, heartbreaking rescues and a cross-country relocation from Los Angeles to New Orleans with hundreds of dogs while they continue to operate a rescue empire – Villalobos Rescue Center – the largest pit bull rescue center in the U.S. Tia has also offered a fresh start to more than 50 parolees and a new lease on life to hundreds of dogs that were discarded, demonized and abused, often due solely to the reputation of their breed. Now, Animal Planet celebrates the 100th episode milestone of PIT BULLS & PAROLEES on Saturday, January 2, at 10 PM (ET/PT). Immediately following the episode, Fox Sports TV personality and pit bull advocate Jay Glazer will catch up with Tia inside Villalobos Rescue Center for an unfiltered look at life behind the scenes with her kids and the dogs she’s fought for and rescued over the past two decades. Additionally, the network announces the renewal of the franchise series, produced by Emmy-nominated 44 Blue Productions, with 10 brand new episodes beginning fall 2016.
With a loyal fan base and a thriving social media presence nearing 1.5 million Facebook fans, PIT BULLS & PAROLEES has inspired a pit bull rescue movement across the country. Beginning at 11 PM (ET/PT), Jay Glazer will host a half-hour special After show event with Tia Torres from Villalobos Rescue Center in New Orleans. During the intimate discussion, Tia will give viewers the no-holds-barred inside scoop about what it’s like to run the nation’s largest pit bull rescue while she also films the television series at the same time. Throughout the night, fans will have the chance to show off their own pit bulls on air by submitting pictures using #PitBulls100 on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
PIT BULLS & PAROLEES is produced for Animal Planet by 44 Blue Productions and Rive Gauche Television. Rasha Drachkovitch, Billy Cooper and Dave Luce are the executive producers for 44 Blue Productions. For Animal Planet, Lisa Lucas is the executive producer, and Patrick Keegan is the producer.

Please do not cancel this program. I plan my day around their show.
I love this show. They do such a great job with these beautiful dogs. The next time I’m in New Orleans I am going to their shop and bar. I would love to go and visit the center also.
Am an avid fan of pitbulls and parolees because of how Tia Torres does all she can to help this very misunderstood dog breed, as well as helping dogs of all kinds.
Love the show and everything they do for the dogs no matter what kind of dog
I love the show and watch everyday it is on. Pits are great dogs and to See her get a fighting dog and how she changes them it is so inspiring please keep it on my favorite show
Absolutely love this show and hope it stays on for a long time. I wait to see this every week I give this family a lot of credit for the good work they do and especially Tia for her hàrd work. I have a new respect for the pitbulls. Keep up the excellent work.
Love the show. I hope it doesn’t get cancelled.
Absolutely! It is one out of three of my most favorite tv shows. The good that family does is just incredible for those poor dogs. The dogs are just trusting, innocent victims of human neglect, cruelty, abuse both physical and emotionally from humans that are being so self centered and have hard demoniac hearts! Insurance companies need to accept that these dogs are not instinctively mean, it is the humans that raise them that create them to be so. By nature they are sweet, loving, kind, playful and happy Spirits. I would like to see one of these cruel owners… Read more »
An absolutely fantastic show. Best reality show on tv. I watch it over and over. My whole family loved it.
I have been a licensed veterinary technician for almost 20 years and have worked with the misunderstood and notorious breed my entire career. I became a fan of the show during it’s 2nd season when one of the doctors I work with told me that I just HAD to check it out. As anyone in the veterinary field would agree – any breed of dog, just like people, will become a product of their environment; good or bad. I admit that like a lot of people I was hesitant to even get close to a pit during my first week… Read more »
Great comment and so true. Just big muscles of love. And a super show. I rescue German shepherds, but I had 1 pit I adopted from animal control when she was 6 months and she was the most living dog out of my six. She also loved my other dogs. Someone stole her 2 years ago. Even with her chip and a 7k reward offered I have not gotten her back. My heart has A huge hole. She used to cuddle up next to my daughters big pregnant belly. Great dog. Now I volunteer and take the shelter pits out… Read more »
Once I started watching “Pit Bulls & Parolees” about a year ago, my husband and I became hooked. We have watched, recorded, re-watched, and searched for the show to no end. I feel so connected to Tia and her family, their mission, the paroles, and the dogs; it could be described as an addiction. We have long-awaited the new season. My one question is “WHY WILL THERE ONLY BE TEN SHOWS ALLOTTED FOR SEASON 8?” Please expand the series and continue to renew it yearly! Thank you to all of the staff and production company for doing such a good… Read more »
I used to work in a dog daycare/boarding place & we had a pit bull that was THEE SWEETEST girl!! Loved by all.
Taylor, you need to remember that LOOKS can be decieving. I was rescued by a corgi eared, beagle, shep.?? mix. Oh so sweet.
Tia AWESOME show. ATTA girl award!!!!
Pit bulls are so ugly. I’d never adopt one. I’d rather rescue greyhounds or dobermans. Dogs that are aesthetically pleasing to the eye is just as important to me as temperament.
tayler — Wow! Really, not cool and incredibly shallow! Have you never heard the old adage “beauty is in the eye of the beholder” ? Personally, I don’t think greyhounds are aesthetically pleasing in the least bit. An animal’s temperament is WAY more important than it’s looks. How would you like it if that was the basis in which you were judged??!!!!
i wonder how much this show is getting for the rescue and the people that work there because it seems with the fame they have more dogs and more cost. i was concerend when it was mentioned in a post that last year they had almost 500,oo thousand dollars in expenses for the vet care alone.hopefull the vet bills are paid if the show paid the rescue and villalobos enough to support the rscue.
Lately Animal Planet has had some really crappy shows. Fortunately there is still Pit Bulls and Parolees. Wish they would keep it on forever.
i am so happy to hear that the season will continue…a series finale isnt even an option for me..this a great show with a great meaning to what helping and loving unwanted animals and animals in need is all about…without this many dogs may have to be turned away..i hope u have many tears yet on tv , i hope animal planet is smart enough to keep it on for a long time…they will never find a better show..Tia and the gang!! i love u
