Is Pure Genius saying goodbye for good? CBS has released a synopsis for the season one finale of the TV show.
The medical drama follows top doctors as they team up with cutting-edge tech experts and try to push the boundaries of modern medicine to save lives. The cast includes Dermot Mulroney, Augustus Prew, Odette Annable, Reshma Shetty, Aaron Jennings, Ward Horton, and Brenda Song.
CBS has not yet announced whether or not Pure Genius will return for a second season. However, things aren’t looking great. So far, season one is averaging an 18-49 demo rating of .87 and 5.37 million viewers, placing it third-to-last out of CBS’ scripted TV shows for the 2016-2017 season.
The season (and possibly series) finale of Pure Genius airs on January 26th at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

What do you think? Are you watching Pure Genius? Do you think it should be renewed?
I really enjoyed this show. Please bring it back.
I Loved it. So did my husband. Sad it wont be renewed.
I was really hoping that you would reconsider and renew Pure Genius for at least one more season and see if more people watch it. It is such a great show and good actors. I love the story lines and it is so wonderful to see what it will be like for medicine in the future. I really wish the public had more say in which shows should stay and which ones go. I know it is a money thing but it is really hard to find good things to watch on T.V. and Pure Genius was one of the… Read more »
Renew it! Loved the show!
We enjoyed this program. It was a pleasure to see a non-violent drama on TV. Great story and excellent acting and production.
Save! I love pure genius!
I love pure genius. Bring it back!!
Please bring it back, please concept is great, updated version of House would you really want to lose out on this
Premise very different from other shows. Loved it and watched it faithfully. I say bring it back!
I loved this show!!! One of the best shows in years. With all the garbage reality shows out there, it’s refreshing to see a completely new concept that didn’t really get the chance to gain an audience in the short time it had on the air. I say give it a full season and watch it fly!!!
This is a great show!!!! So different than most of the tv shows airing right now!!! Our whole family loved watching this show! Great cast and characters!!! Gives a lot of hope to fighting illness, even though it’s a tv show. Will be so disappointed if it’s not brought back!!!
I am 66 years old an have breast cancer I enjoy this show and it gives inspiration to people who are going through medical problems and it’s not like the shows with all the violence sex and killings please give this show a chance with a season 2
Oh my… This is such a great show. While I know it’s a TV show, I can’t help think that the way technology is changing, some of this “fantasy” could become a reality. When I watch it, I get a sense of hope for the future for people with medical issues. Maybe someone who watches the show will get an idea and develop technology that’s similar, or will stumble on something else amazing.
CBS, Please do Not cancel Pure Genius! We are big fans of this show. Give it one more season because we will miss it terribly if you do not. Character James Bell is interesting and Dr. Wallace is a great doctor and people person. I would rather see some of the sitcom type shows be cancelled, due to non-family friendly content that I continue to see when flipping through channels. Keep Pure Genius!!!!!
Pure Genius is a fantastic show. Gives people hope. Needs time to grow
