Showtime is getting literary. TVLine reports the network’s upcoming series Purity will be limited to two seasons.
Based on the novel by Jonathan Franzen, the drama follows the lives of several characters, including a recent college graduate, an East German dissident, and an investigative journalist. Daniel Craig stars and Todd Field will write and direct the series.
At the TCA summer press tour, Showtime revealed Purity will last for two seasons and a total of 20 episodes. The show is currently in pre-production, with production planned for 2017.
