Tonight, NBC is airing the second episode of Revolution, their latest Mondays at 10pm drama. The TV series’ ratings were very good in its premiere. Will they hold up or is Revolution doomed to be cancelled anyway?
For those who tuned in late, Revolution takes place 15 years after all technology that’s dependent on electricity stops working. Civilization reworks itself as people adapt and one family may hold the key to uncover what happened and how to reverse its effects. The large cast includes Billy Burke, Tracy Spiridakos, Giancarlo Esposito, Zak Orth, David Lyons, Anna Lise Phillips, Graham Rogers, J. D. Pardo, Tim Guinee, Maria Howell, and Elizabeth Mitchell.
Revolution had a strong showing last week with a 4.1 demo rating and 11.65 million viewers. It got a great launch, courtesy of its popular lead-in The Voice. We’ll have to wait and find out how many people come back this week, especially now that it will air opposite new episodes of Castle and Hawaii Five-0.
It’s also important to remember that other “mystery” shows — re: Flash Forward, Terra Nova, Alcatraz — started out strong but fizzled and lost viewers as the season progressed.
What do you think? Will Revolution’s ratings see a big decline, will they hold up, or even grow? Are you going to keep watching?
Please do not cancel Revolution! One of the best programs on TV. My cousin just called me to find what when it would be back on!
This is by FAR the worst television show since cop rock..It will be GONE in 6 weeks
no one likes it or watches it or will ever watch more than 30 seocnds of it
Tonight’s is the 8th episode, it’s NBC’s highest rated scripted show and they ordered 22 episodes.
The major problem for me are most of the lead characters, I don’t like them. And I don’t think the young woman lead is right for the part. I will say Giancarlo Esposito is an exception to an otherwise dull cast.
fully agree.
Have watched both episodes. Really enjoy this show. I also enjoy Castle which is Revolution’s competition. So I record both and watch them both. Hopefully, that counts in the ratings.
I like this show MUCH better than Terra Nova. It goes at a good pace and shoves a lot of content into an hour.
Yes, and if it wasn’t for the voice it would have done a lot worse. The point I’m getting to is this: as much as I HATE the voice, it’s gonna keep at least one or two shows around, nbc will realize it and all of the sudden, the voice is indispensable so it’s gonna be around a bit more. How else did the Thursday night sitcoms bomb that badly?
Not too interesting. How did all the models survive?
Watched the second episode and I’m still not entirely sold, but as a fan of genre programming, I’ll stick with it. It’s got potential to grow into a better show (which is the same thing I said about cruelly cancelled Terra Nova last year — and that show turned into something really special by the end). I thought it was an interesting aspect of it that the American flag — and the idea of the United States as we know them — are in fact the underdog/rebel forces. In real life, we think of the U.S. as this big, unbeatable… Read more »
