Does John Nolan make the grade during the first season of The Rookie TV show on ABC? As we all know, the Nielsen ratings typically play a big role in determining whether a TV show like The Rookie is cancelled or renewed for season two. Unfortunately, most of us do not live in Nielsen households. Because many viewers feel frustration when their viewing habits and opinions aren’t considered, we’d like to offer you the chance to rate all of The Rookie season one episodes here. *Status update below.
An ABC comedy-drama, The Rookie stars Nathan Fillion, Alyssa Diaz, Richard T. Jones, Titus Makin, Mercedes Mason, Melissa O’Neil, Afton Williamson, and Eric Winter. The story centers on John Nolan (Fillion), a small-town guy who, after a life-changing experience, decides to pursue his dream of being an LAPD officer. Now he’s the oldest rookie on the force, and the brass thinks he’s just having a midlife crisis. He’s got to keep up with his younger co-workers (not to mention young criminals) or he’ll risk lives. Maybe though, he can use the experience he’s gained with age, and the determination he has developed over the years, to make a real go of it. Either way, he’s got a secret weapon — his sense of humor.

Great show, great cast with dramatic execution and potential in terms of storyline content and character growth. Hope this gets renewed for a second season. It’s always tough when a great series gets cut off at the knees bc of other factors like a later timeslot and not enough advertising/social media presence like this show’s faced. I’ve only just gotten a chance to watch the series via streaming. Hope ABC renews it and gives it a chance.

I like all the other actors as well. Officer Bishop (Afton Williamson) is one of my favorites. I like it when she gives Officer Nolan a hard time…

L9ve this show, not as much as Castle, but it’s a really good show, and getting better each episode. The episode where Nolan shot someone and the follow up one were really a great showcase for Nathan’s dramatic skills. I always liked the dramatic Castle episodes best, even tho Nathan is a natural comedian. I so hope this show lasts for years to come.
What appears to relate to actual personal life of an LA police rookie. Gritty but explanatory, personal but action viewed from a variety of points of view. I liked Castle very much, I like this program very much to date. I am highly educated, well read, retired and very active in community affairs.

Renew The Rookie! Episodes 8 & 9 are excellent acting, compelling stories, Nathan Fillion is doing a great job in the serious acting role inthese episodes. He plays drama well. Keep up the exciting stories.
