AMC has decided to cancel Rubicon after one season of 13 episodes.
Billed as a conspiracy thriller, Rubicon is set in a government intelligence agency where nothing is as it seems. The cast includes James Badge Dale, Dallas Roberts, Jessica Collins, Christopher Evan Welch, Lauren Hodges, Arliss Howard, and Miranda Richardson.
The TV show was previewed back in June and attracted a 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.07 million viewers. When the series officially kicked off in August, the demo dropped to a 0.3 rating with 1.9 million viewers. The demo dropped to a 0.2 after that and the whole season averaged a 0.3 rating and 1.25 million viewers.
That wasn’t enough for AMC to want a second season and the cable channel has now cancelled the series.
Of the cancellation decision, AMC released the following statement, “Rubicon’ gave us an opportunity to tell a rich and compelling story, and we’re proud of the series. This was not an easy decision, but we are grateful to have had the opportunity to work with such a phenomenally talented and dedicated team.”
The 13th and final episode of Rubicon aired on October 17th.
What do you think? Are you sorry to hear that it’s been cancelled? What would you liked to have seen in season two?

I liked it. My husband thought it was boring. Acting was great. I was disappointed in the last episode. Not true to the story line. It seemed like the writers were stretching to leave you hanging for another season. All it accomplished was annoy the fans the show did have. I would love to see the network give it another shot.
Love this show, so sorry it has been cancelled. I was looking forward to the new season. It was such a great drama, interesting plot, with great actors. Please bring this show back, sick and tired of reality shows!
Sorry! I really liked this ADULT offering. I hope the powers that be reconsider their decision.
One of the most intelligent shows on TV. It’s pathetic that AMC wouldn’t give it another chance.
Damn. For all its faults, it was the only brainy show on TV capable of succeeding 24.
Bring it back.
Bummer! I really liked this show. It took a while to unfold but once it got going, it was great. Too bad America doesn’t like intelligence. Rubicon is cancelled but Jersey Shore is renewed.
AETV should rethink this one!!!!!!!!
Shame. RUBICON was the ONLY show I recorded and watched in addition to BREAKING BAD in all of television-land. It was a great intel thriller and I was totally absorbed in the details, playing certain scenes over to pick up clues. Terrific cast, terrific acting. Please bring this one back. Writers were spot on the subject.
That is really too bad. I loved that showed and looked forward to season 2. There is no other show on tv right now with Rubicon’s depth in dialogue and plot. AMC should really rethink that decision!
Sad, was looking forward to the new season for one of my favorite shows.
I cant believe there is no second season .. not after this finish .. probably it’s not been “flat” enough for the majority of the audience … i think it has big potential, even though the actors were not too great
I will as well as family and some friends will miss a second season….
wonderful series. obviously too good for the mindless masses. Is unfortunate that quality and and economic viabililty dont mesh well in the media business. This one will live on because it was such a quality effort – entertaining, thrilling and complete.
Our loss.
Such great writting and acting. Please have this show return.
Too bad! The most engaging show of last season. My wife and I would love to see it return.
