In its first season, Scandal drew mediocre ratings and was nearly cancelled. ABC likely brought it back because they need new dramas and are hoping that the ratings would improve in season two. Will they be glad that they took the risk? Time will tell.
The second season of Scandal typically airs Thursday nights at 10pm on the ABC network. The cast includes Kerry Washington, Bellamy Young, Columbus Short, Darby Stanchfield, Guillermo Diaz, Jeff Perry, Joshua Malina, Katie Lowes, and Tony Goldwyn.

WE LOVE THE SHOW! It gets better all the time. And both male and female
Viewers in our home like it. We love all the characters.
It just keeps getting better every week! Please don’t
Cancel!
Meant to say “have TO ” watch it again On Demand to understand what is happening.
They talk so fast I can’t follow it. I have it watch it On Demand to get what they were saying Love the show.
About the dialogue, smart people talk fast to other smart people when under pressure to get their important jobs done. Scandal is an accurate portrayal of that scenario. The rhythm of this show, however, would be a more accurate portrayal of real life if the pressure would subside, from time to time, and smart people talking to other smart people would reveal the nuances of their characters in relaxed conversation. Everything does not have to be rapid-fire to be interesting, to smart people. That may be the fatal flaw of this program, that it is so very smart, like a… Read more »
This isn’t a “smart” comment. I know quite a few unintelligent people who love this show. And the reason behind it is something foolish. The show is way overrated. People have nothing to compare it to. It’s winning by default.
love scandal
it is sexy and action packed
the writing is great
I was an early fan- great plot, good acting made me like the show very much. . . at first. Now I find that that the speed talking and inflection has become monotonous, making the omission of normal words in our speech pattern (small words like “and,” “the,” “uhmmm,” “it’s, “so”) a quick-paced bore. The actors work is complex, the talk is important, but what is the point of making every sentence from every unique character sound so much the same? The way the shows are written makes the pace of the dialogue so similar to Grey’s Anatomy, that it’s… Read more »
Love this show. Please don’t cancel. And, yes they do talk fast.
I watched this show for the first (and last!) time last night. What’s wrong? Too many commercials. I started timing the intervals of show versus commercials and it was ridiculous: 7 or less minutes of the show and the 2-3 minutes of conmercials. That is untenable and not worth it. I am accustomed to all the good cable dramas and rarely watch network so had no idea this interruption rate was now the norm on network. This and lousy programming explains the failure of Oprah’s network as well. I also found the rapid fire dialogue difficult to follow. It was… Read more »
It could be good to move Scandal to Sunday. Revenge and Scandal come on the same day it could potential be very good for ABC.
It could be good to move Scandal to Sunday. Revenge and Scandal come on the same day it could potential be very good for ABC.
I meant potentially.
Scandal needs to be promoted better. Not just on ABC but on cable as well. ABC promoted all of its other shows on cable but Not Scandal. There are people out there that do not know this show exist. I have told people about this show and they never knew it existed. Promote Scandal Better. Promote it on cable. Promote it everywhere.
I watch a lot of HGTV and MSNBC/Fox news, History Channel or I’ll channel surf watching what ever seems interesting at that moment. I also am on my computer or Netflixs. I seldom seek out any program on any one night and focus on watching it. what changed my habits of watching TV was first “Revenge” (although I lost interest, with all the pre-empting), and “Scandal” (my favorite show on television). A good drama (esp. for network TV, with it’s limits), is hard to find, you have a quality show, so advertize it!
I agree that the show is excellent. The time needs to be moved to Sunday night.
For the people who call this show a Soap. It is far from a Soap. I watched soaps in the past . This show is nothing like that. Every show is going to have romance on them but that does not mean it is a Soap. It is a drama.
The fast talking is what happens in that type of fast pace job. In Law Firms people talk fast like that. I mean it is not a reason not watch the show. The dialogue is fine to me. For the people who have problem with the fast talking. Let Shonda Rhimes know on twitter. I don’t want the show to get cancelled. It is good and needs better promotion.
