What’s This TV Show About?
Streaming on the Netflix paid subscription platform, Sense8 stars Doona Bae, Jamie Clayton, Tina Desai, Tuppence Middleton, Toby Onwumere, Max Riemelt, Miguel Ángel Silvestre, Brian J. Smith, Freema Agyeman, Terrence Mann, Anupam Kher, Naveen Andrews, and Daryl Hannah. The series follows eight people from around the world, who were born on the same day, and share a psychic connection. In the second season, the Sensates — Capheus (Onwumere), Kala (Desai), Lito (Silvestre), Nomi (Clayton), Riley (Middleton) , Sun (Bae), Will (Smith) and Wolfgang (Riemelt) –unite and dive headlong into each other’s lives, as they ponder their existence. Because Whispers (Mann) is hunting them down, the group needs to live together, fathom one another, and defend themselves.
On June 1, 2017, Sense8 was cancelled. There will be no third season on Netflix but a series ending special airs June 8, 2018. Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
Unless Netflix decides to release streaming “ratings” it is always difficult to gauge the success of streaming TV shows, like Sense8, so let’s look at what we do know. The critical response to the first season of Sense8 was mostly positive. We’ll have to wait and see how viewers respond to the second season. After the show’s nearly two years on hiatus, will the audience still care?
While we do know the actors’ contracts lapsed, a couple of months ago Netflix reportedly reached out the core cast for a third season, and was in the process of re-signing them. So, it seems the internet streaming service is eager for me to go hungry, but does P.E.T.A. care? Well, my phone’s not ringing. I can tell you that much. These people are true artists and standing between them and their creation is unacceptable. The Wachowski sisters are the most influential directors of their generation, even the century..
Can we talk about how rude Netflix has been towards the fans, the actors and the producers? It never gave Sense8 a chance, since the cancellation was announced right after the airing of season 2 episodes.. How could they know the public’s response to these episodes? There was also no forewarning so the fans never got the chance to fight for the show, or the writers to provide a decent closure.. It is such a desapointment!! It is such an addictive, intelligent and Beautiful tv show!! I loved just to brainwash trying to figuring out the mysteries! The photography was breathtaking. Very deceiving :((((
Yes I’m disappointed that Sense8 is not being renewed. This show addressed current social issues with grace and kindness. It’s disappointing that the effort to continue it has fallen short.
I am SO DISAPPOINTED. What a great and unusual show. I watched season 2 in one setting–can’t believe they left us hanging. I hate that. Loved the show and the actors. Very annoyed right now.
It so has NOT… Their stocks are down because of us.. We made them issue a follow-up statement because they couldn’t ignore us! They even developed an internal protocol for livechat official statement.. Don’t give up please, Netflix is a giant it is going to take a lot more than a week to get we want and we have to keep fighting! Like Sense8 taught us to 🙂
I’m utterly shocked that Cindy Holland and netflix have cancelled this amazing and addictive show. They took a poop on all the fans and viewers of the show and netflix in general when they left off season 2 with a cliffhanger. Smdh

I find out not just captivating, but relevant, timely, and real. Please reconsider. This show has ground breaking courageous qualities to it. It has a voice that needs to be heard.
The news Sense8 had been cancelled left me feeling bereft, but also angry at Netflix. Season 2 was ever better than Season 1.
Why why why would they cancel a show that awesome?!?! I absolutely love that show! It’s so beautifully made and characters are so amazing! They have to bring it back! We need season 3!!
I absolutely love this show. So many different stories and people all merging together through an incredible journey. Action, romance, comedy.. I will be super sad if it really is cancelled, especially with how they ended season 2. We need to make sure Wolfgang made it out!

Sense8 has been a remarkable show to watch. The character development as well as the storyline has been truly engaging. At least The Matrix was allowed to conclude it’s story. I only hope another streaming channel will pick this fantastic series up.
I am so disappointed this show was cancelled. It had an excellent storyline, and the cast was great. Loved this show. I don’t watch regular TV and Sense8 was one of the reasons I enjoy Netflix so much. It’s a great show. I very disappointed with who ever made that decision to cancel it. I really hope they do change their mind. I would love to see a season 3 and more on this show. Please bring it back. Thank you.
