What’s This TV Show About?
On the Shadowhunters TV show, young Clary Fray (Katherine McNamara) celebrates her 18th birthday at a New York City nightclub and sees a group of teenagers with supernatural abilities attacking a demon. She realizes that she is the only person who can see them and later learns that she’s one of a long line of demon hunters. When her mother, Jocelyn (Maxim Roy) is kidnapped, Clary must join other hunters to try to save her. All the while, she is learning about her new supernatural abilities. The rest of the Freeform cast includes Matthew Daddario, Alberto Rosende, Dominic Sherwood, Harry Shum Jr., Emeraude Toubia, and Isaiah Mustafa.
Season Two Ratings
The second season of Shadowhunters averaged a 0.26 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 648,000 viewers. Compared to the season one, that’s down by 38% in the demo and down by 32% in viewers. Learn how Shadowhunters stacks up against the other Freeform TV shows.
On April 21, 2017, Shadowhunters was officially renewed for a third season which will debut April 3, 2018. Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
While the second season of Shadowhunters has dropped off considerably, it is still in the top half of Freeform’s programming slate. Freeform has cancelled and renewed shows doing both better and worse than Shadowhunters. It also seems to fit with the Freeform brand. At this time, I suspect Shadowhunters will be renewed for a third season.

The show has to be renewed for season 3. It’s a Great adaptation of the books The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare. They cancelled the movie, please don’t cancel this as well. I Love It!!
Definitely has to be renewed!! I’d be gutted if we dont get at least another season. LOve this show!!
I hope they keep the series. I’m a big fan and was upset when they decided TV over more movies. But I do like it although an awful lot of liberty taken in rewriting the books!
I need more!!!! season 2 had ended at the part that I was most excited for, both for Malec and for the plot twist I loved most in the books!!!

A third season would be great, I would love to see where they take the show. I love all the changes they have made so far, it would be very disappointing if they decide to cancel the show

I really enjoy watching the series and I have even begun reading the books in the series because I am too impatient to find out what happens next. I really hope they continue the show.

Don’t be too upset when you’ve found they’ve taken a lot of liberties with the plot in the tv series. For instance the death of Clary’s Mom. I’m sure you’ll love the books but read them now. If this series isn’t cancelled you may be torn between the story in the books and the one evolving in the tv series. I’m enjoying the tv but glad I read the books first.
I really like Shadow hunters. I hope they renew for season 3!! I can’t watch it on Free-form but I do watch it after on Google play!! Love where the story line is going….hope they realize that it takes at least 3 to 4 seasons to REALLY get hooked on a show!! Go for season 3!!

I will feel devastated if they don’t continue with a third season, the trama is different from the book but it doesn’t mean is less exciting, it is actually very good, I really like it, and I enjoy every episode, the new surprises what each episode has is very exciting, I really hope they continue or it will be very disappointed, for a very exciting show to end it up like this.
