FOX introduced a few new law enforcement TV shows, in the 2016-17 television season. While Lethal Weapon has already been renewed for a second season, APB is struggling in the TV ratings and could be cancelled. Which path will the new Shots Fired TV show follow? Will it be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.
Airing on the FOX television network, Shots Fired stars Sanaa Lathan, Stephan James, Stephen Moyer, Will Patton, Mack Wilds, Aisha Hinds, Clare-Hope Ashitey, Conor Leslie, DeWanda Wise, and Richard Dreyfuss. Helen Hunt, Jill Hennessy, and Dennis Haysbert guest star.
A timely mystery drama thriller, Shots Fired is a 10-hour limited series which explores the tense aftermath of two racially charged shootings in a small North Carolina town. When African-American Deputy Joshua Beck (Wilds) shoots and kills an unarmed white college student, it unsettles his small burg. As word spreads about the overlooked murder of an African-American teenager, tensions flare. Launching an investigation, the Department of Justice dispatches experienced investigator Ashe Akino (Lathan) and young Special Prosecutor Preston Terry (James) to investigate.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/25 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.

I truly enjoyed Shots Fired, I loved the actors and they all played their roles very well. One of the best cop shows I’ve seen that I’ve enjoyed in a while. I’ve looked forward to watching the 2nd season. My husband and I watched it every week and if we couldn’t catch it right then, we recorded it or watched on HULU. Please find a way to bring it back!!!

I hope that there is a second season. The theme of race, the stellar acting of the protagonists kept me and my wife watching every week. ‘Shots Fired” deserve to be back in the Fall.
There definitely needs to be a second season. As I am an African American mother raising an African American son, the plot of this show sheds SOME light as to what this world had come to and how UNJUST the Justice System really is. I love the show; from the actors, the acting and the storyline. Not to mention the eye candy (Stephan James)
So sad…
I had to remember this is a fictional program. Once I came to that conclusion, I realized the show was and excellent show. Though there was some parts of the script that I did not agree with but, the acting was phenomenal. As I watched the final show, I saw the similarities of actual cases. As many have written before me, I too don`t understand why we view all the garbage shows and not enough of us view the good (black) ones. We will watch all the shows that portray us in the most negative way proudly, but the shows… Read more »
Another show they’re not giving enough time. I loved the show, great acting. Leave it alone. Stop taking off the good shows and leaving on the garbage.
Shots fired is a show with much promise, as its initial premise leads to a segway that could engage a broader perspective about the injustice of the justice system.
