There won’t be a third season for the Sirens comedy series on USA Network. The cable channel has cancelled the series after two seasons on the air.
Sirens follows the lives of EMT’s who work for the Eminent Ambulance Company in Chicago. They’re great at saving people’s lives but terrible at running their own. The cast includes Michael Mosley, Kevin Daniels, Kevin Bigley, Jessica McNamee, Bill Nunn, and Josh Segarra.
The show debuted in March of 2014 and the first season ended up averaging a 0.44 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.13 million viewers. The second season dropped 23-34% in the ratings, averaging a 0.34 rating with 740,000 viewers.
According to Deadline, the low ratings played a big role in the decision to cancel the series, as did the fact that Sirens is not owned by USA.
The last episode of Sirens aired last week — on Tuesday, April 14th.
What do you think? Do you like the Sirens TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a third season? Would you watch it elsewhere?
Awesome show truly funny and can relate as a EMT with the FDNY… Not enough shows out there that represent our gritty yet tumultuous personalities… Sad
Aww come on. The storylines were fresh and funny
Really disappointed to see that this won’t be returning. I really enjoyed this show, the cast had great chemistry together and it was always funny while dealing with some emotional issues. I don’t think USA gave it enough backing I hardly ever saw a promo for it, and if it weren’t for my DVR I wouldn’t have known when it was on. So sad to see it go.
Too bad Sirens has been cancelled. It was a funny show.
My husband and I found the show original and refreshing. There is a lack of comedys on tv. Sirens seamlessly combined drama and comedy. They never failed to. Get laughs in any episode. We were blindsided by their cancelled status.
I enjoyed this show and sorry to see it’s gone. But it’s not surprising given the drop in ratings for the second season.
This show was sooooo funny! I will miss watching it. It’s almost not worth watching ANY new show – barely any of them last more than 1 or 2 seasons…..
Awwwww come on another cancellation! Losing my faith in network TV. I’m so close to pulling the plug & go back to reading books. At least no one will come & rip it out of my hands when I start enjoying it.
Exactly this!
INDEED! USA Network used to be one of my favourite networks to watch. Their recent decision to cancel Sirens has made me realize that network television is getting exponentially worse.
I completely agree! I found it well written and felt it never failed to deliver laughs.
This is absolutely ridiculous! This was a great show. If it weren’t for Monday Night Raw, I’d never watch USA again. This is BS!
True Story! Do they not realize that ratings will naturally fluctuate.
TV standards are not that high. This show was entertaining, I guess if it’s not a murder mystery, medical, cop show or trash reality it doesn’t have a chance.
VERY, VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT USA CANCELLED THIS VERY FUNNY SHOW!!!! ON LESS REASON TO WATCH USA!!
So sad because I really loved this show!HIL.AR.I.OUS. I LOL’d ALL THE TIME! Not surprised though. When I started watching it last season, I had just happened upon it. It had relatively no buzz.
I can’t say that I’m surprised that “Sirens” got the ax. While I really liked this show, it didn’t seem like much attention was really given to it, and not just by the viewing audience. USA Network did very little to push the show, but seeing as how “Sirens” was not owned by USA Network we can see why.
I just found this show and it is SOOO Funny. It hasn’t been promoted well. That is probably most of the issue.
Loved this show! But I expected this not to be renewed, because Denis Learty was an executive producer and now he has his new baby, “Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll that’ll begin on FX soon. Looking forward to the new show.
