NBC has had great ratings success with airing The Blacklist after The Voice, their biggest series. Will State of Affairs be a hit as well? Cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.
State of Affairs follows a top CIA analyst (Katherine Heigl) who assembles the President of the United States’ Daily Briefing (PDB), weighing the vital security issues that face the nation. She has a close personal relationship with the commander-in-chief (Alfre Woodard) as she was once engaged to the president’s now-deceased son. The rest of the cast of this dramatic thriller includes Adam Kaufman, Sheila Vand, Cliff Chamberlain, Tommy Savas, and David Harbour.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/8 update: NBC has cancelled State of Affairs after one season of 13 episodes.
1/19 update: If you ran the network, would you cancel or renew State of Affairs?
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the State of Affairs TV show? Would you like to see it cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Please renew. Almost as good as Blacklist!
Please don’t can !!! Love this show !
Please renew, great show. Have to record and watch at later date – count my view.. Renew..
NBC needs some forward thinking . They try too hard to copy similar type programs on other channels. State of Affairs needs to be replaced with an original idea. I agree with the one post, the way they tabulate viewers is way past time for an update since we watch tv so many ways now. Also count people over 49. We spend money on items in commercials. In fact we probably spend more than someone 18. So they need to revamp their whole ideas along with NBC.
renew. ratings will improve. remember conan’s first year?
I really like the show State of Affairs! I wish
you had a way of counting those of us viewers
that have to record the show and watch at a
later date! You are not getting an accurate
count of your viewers. Please don’t cancel
State of Affairs! I’m a big fan!
Thank you,
Rhonda J.
There are so many shows that the demographic in question watches On Demand. Great shows are being cancelled based on antiquated counting methods that do not factor in at all the change in viewing habits of target audiences. It may be difficult to count On Demand viewing but it should not be impossible. Hulu etc may be difficult but still should not be impossible. It’s in the best interests of advertisers and producers to realize their counting methodologies may be long overdue for rethinking. Ads with blocked fast forward work for Time Warner.
Awesome show ! every bit as good as Blacklist. Please renew it the show, as it is sure to be a big hit.
Please renew State Of Affairs! It is one of the best shows on TV as is The Blacklist! State Of Affairs is especially timely given the world events. It is one of the most intelligent network programs in years. Also, the performances are remarkable!
Please renew the show . The Blacklist and SOA are the only shows we watch.
Love this show.
Please please renew!!!
Please renew
I think the show is really good. Not the best show in the world but good. Should keep it or someone like netflix will snatch it. Can you sayHouse of Cards?!?!?… Networks need to beware of netflix. They are a rising force to reckon with.
I can’t wait for the next season.
Please renew!
