Well, that didn’t take long. The CW network has cancelled their new drama, The Beautiful Life, after just two airings.
Co-produced by Ashton Kutcher, The Beautiful Life revolves around a pair of teenagers who have just entered the cut throat world of high-fashion, secretive Raina Mayer (Sara Paxton) and farmboy Chris Andrews (Benjamin Hollingsworth). The series also stars Mischa Barton, Elle Macpherson, Ashley Madekwe, Nico Tortorella, and Corbin Bleu.
The series debuted last Wednesday to just 1.46 million viewers and a 0.7/2 rating/share in the 18-49 demographic. That put the premiere in last place for the hour and also represented a loss of almost 50% of the audience from lead-in America’s Next Top Model.

This week, the ratings for the second episode came in even lower. Beautiful Life drew only 1.09 million people and a terrible 0.5/1 in the targeted demographic. That represents a 60% loss of the lead-in audience. It was also beaten by a repeat of Magic’s Biggest Secrets Revealed on My Network TV.
To little surprise, the CW network has decided to cut their losses and cancel the drama. They’ve pulled it from the schedule effective immediately and production was shut down earlier today. According to THR, the cast and crew were in the midst of filming the seventh episode. The drama is the latest in a line series that have been paired with Top Model and failed.
For the immediate future, the network will try to generate more interest in struggling freshman series Melrose Place by airing repeats in Beautiful Life’s timeslot.

I looked foward to the show….I was getting ready to watch it and it didn’t come on…In my opinion Gossip Girl and TBL are the best shows on CW. Tyler Perry recieved poor ratings by critics for his first few works, but they were actually hits. If he had quit because of some ratings he wouldn’t be where he is now! With that being said, bring back my d*** show!

they should have kept it going, made it work.
maybe change the date though… because a LOT of other shows are on at the time, like glee.
i recorded the beautiful life because i thought it was a very good show, and i liked the drama. they should have DEFINITELY kept it going, instead of showing melrose place again. that probably puts the ratins down more since people have already seen it!
it was such a upset when i found out melrose place was on again… i want the beautiful life back!!!!!
This was a great show. Getting intense and good. I was looking forward to watching the 3rd episode when I found that it was replaced by a re-run of Melrose. Okay? That was such a bummer. The network totally missed an opportunity to make the show work.

OH AND ONE MORE THING, IF BY ANY CHANCE GOSSIP GIRL IS EVER CANCELLED, WE WILL BE HAVING SOME PROBLEMS!!! JUST LETTING EVERYONE KNOW.
CW? can you guys please just give that show back?!?!?!? it was so good! i was looking forward to watching it !!! please ? it is way better than melrose place and americas next top model! just give it a shot!
Hey. All of you people out there who think that taking the show off was a good idea, well you are for 1) crazy and 2) well…crazy! I mean i could understand after maybe a good solid 6 episodes and it still wasn’t getting good reviews cutting it, but 2 episodes? They didn’t really give the show time to develop and have devoted watchers. It takes more than 2 episodes for a friend to recommend a show to someone… I’m just saying. I loved this show!!! Unlike Melrose Place that it plain stupid. I watched the first two episodes of Melrose Place and just couldnt get into the show. Cancel Melrose Place and bring back TBL!!!!
man Cw is freaking crazy… what the hell… I love this show.. every show that airs on CW I watch… and am dying to watch every week… this totally sucks…

I dont thtink the cw should have eneded this show. There are so many new shows that air at the same time that i thik a lot of people recorded it on dvr to watch later. This isnt the first time they have cancelled shows very early on. I liked the show Im just not a fan of Misha Barton, I think they should have chose somone else. I think the role was too close to what shes really gone through. Anyway I really dont think it should have been cancelled.
I thought the show was great! Me and my friends really enjoyed it and looked forward to it coming on every week! They should have gave it a few more weeks to catch on to viewers before they cancelled the show! I’m sure all it needed was a little more advertising and the show would have been a hit! America likes shows like TBL. I loved it because I’m an aspiring model, and I thought it truly captured how the modeling life really is. I sure wish they would bring it back!!
