The end is coming for The Bonnie Hunt Show after two seasons on the air. Hosted by actress and comedian Bonnie Hunt, the Warner Bros. syndicated show has been struggling in the ratings essentially since it debuted.
The series has stayed on the air for two seasons mainly because NBC-owned stations had made a two-year deal. Warners could have pulled the plug last spring but instead showed faith and hoped that ratings would improve. Now that the agreement is coming to an end, so is The Bonnie Hunt Show.
Hunt reportedly gave the bad news to her staff on Monday morning but the cancellation wasn’t officially confirmed until last night.
By all accounts, the daytime series will remain in production and complete the season so there are lots of new episodes to come.
What do you think? Why did the show fail? Is there no room for more than a couple of daytime talk shows, like The Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Oprah Winfrey Show? Or, is there something lacking in Hunt’s show?

Maybe if every station would carry it at the same time more people could have watched it.
In Milwaukee it was carried at 8:00am,most moms are getting kids ready for school. I could never find the right time in Tampa, I love that its on at 10:00am in Boston. I think most of her fans like the fact that she is just like most of us. I will miss her. Could you please tell me the date of her last show.
I can’t believe NBC is canceling Bonnie. It’s the only daytime show I make a point to watch. She and her staff can always make me laugh and she has great guests. The Carol Burnett episode yesterday was wonderful. TV does need a funny, wholesome, family friendly show like ” The Bonnie Hunt Show” . I doubt if I will bother to turn the TV on in the afternoon when her show is no longer on.
I still can’t believe it!!!! Her show is down to earth, refreshing, and her warm personality shines through. She is truly “one of us” and relates on a level that very few can, including Oprah and Ellen.
Of all the talk shows, Bonnie’s is the most fun and light-hearted show on the air. It’s unbelievable that it is going to end. Bonnie and her staff always make me really laugh. It just feels so good to forget everything else and truly enjoy this one hour everyday. What a shame!!!!
I still can’t believe Warner Bros is cancelling this show!!! It’s the BEST talk show on TV!! She has a family-oriented show and I belly laugh most shows! I’m so hoping another network picks it up! I’ll follow Bonnie anywhere!
shame on NBC for making another bad decision-maybe if they would have promoted it better. It is one of the best shows on TV. Will miss Bonnie,Charlie,Alice and her cast. what a shame.
I am so disappointed. I love Bonnie Hunt she is so refreshing and kind. there are no other shows like hers.
I wish NBC would have promoted it more. I didn’t know it was on until a few months ago.
I love this show. Very sad to see it end. What a poor decision by the networks.
I don’t know if it will do any good, probably not for now, but our voice can be heard anyway. If you want to contact Warner Brothers –
Warner Brothers Studio
4000 Warner Blvd.
Burbank, Calif. 91522
Neighborhood Burbank
phone – 818 – 954 – 6000
If they get enough people contacting them directly, maybe they will realize their mistake, or some other studio will hear of it.
To: V. House,
Thanks for the Warner Bros contact info. I called them. Please, everybody call, call, call. WB execs are making a very bad desicion. Somebody mentioned Bonnie would be great, like Johnnie was great, on the Tonight Show. I agree with that, but I don’t stay up that late. She does have that same charm and friendliness toward the audience and her guests that Carson had. She is the best host anywhere on tv. What a mistake they’re making at WB.
I love the Bonnie Hunt Show. I never miss it. She is funny and so are the people that
work for her. She cheers me up and I hate it when the show is over.
Please somebody take the show and put it back on the air.
I was upset the hear that it was leaving.

I am so bummed that they canceled the show! I watched it religiously every morning. Bonnie has such a kind heart and her mother is hilarious! I am sad to see the show go.
I cannot say the show “failed”. It is one of the best shows on TV. Warner Brothers is sadly mistaken in removing her show off the air. I sincerely hope another smart network or other studio picks up her show, for regular T.
Bonnie seems to be a genuinely good, funny, warm, entertaining person. The crew that has been put together is also awesome. Her Mom’s segments are hilarious.
What is W/B thinking ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
this is awfulll…can America not support an all-American family talk show?
It is hard for me to believe that she does not get enough viewers. I feel there is more to this than we viewers are being told.
My wife and I have a nice little schedule following the show. We watch it everyday on PVR and when you take the time to watch whats on that PVR when most of us sometimes record shows we never get around too. Bonnie is not one of them. She is by far the most sincere and fun loving person on morning/afternoon tv. It actually feels wrong in my bones for the show to get such a short run. The wholeness and love she gives to us threw this electronic portal known as TV. Is such a rare gift that few… Read more »
I am in shock. I love this show and watch it every day. The network sucks for canceling this show. Please someone else pick her up she and her crew are amazing
