The end is coming for The Bonnie Hunt Show after two seasons on the air. Hosted by actress and comedian Bonnie Hunt, the Warner Bros. syndicated show has been struggling in the ratings essentially since it debuted.
The series has stayed on the air for two seasons mainly because NBC-owned stations had made a two-year deal. Warners could have pulled the plug last spring but instead showed faith and hoped that ratings would improve. Now that the agreement is coming to an end, so is The Bonnie Hunt Show.
Hunt reportedly gave the bad news to her staff on Monday morning but the cancellation wasn’t officially confirmed until last night.
By all accounts, the daytime series will remain in production and complete the season so there are lots of new episodes to come.
What do you think? Why did the show fail? Is there no room for more than a couple of daytime talk shows, like The Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Oprah Winfrey Show? Or, is there something lacking in Hunt’s show?

The Bonnie Hunt show is what a day time TV line-up should be and is, I am unable to enjoy life in ways others take for granted. The #### on other channels can be seen at every hour of the day and the night if so chosen. The Bonnie Hunt show delivers to myself and my wife Kim, just the right mix of current events topical of the moment, along with new developing talents of various tyes and kinds. Bonnie delivers a comforting appearance with a quick ability for improvisation, this women should be given extended concideration based on the world… Read more »
i heard bonnie hunt show was being cancelled, i couldn’t beleive it. this is a good show and i am going to miss bonnie and her crew. i work in a tv store and get to watch her show everyday. i hope she gets another talk show on another network. bonnie will miss you wish you alot of luck.
Again, the best shows are gone. What a shame!! The Bonnie Hunt Show is the best early morning, late afternoon, etc…whatever timeframe you can view it in. Finally a show that had true entertainment, wonderful guests, and actual humor. Nothing stuffy about her show, just good ol’ time values. I guess the execs like the sleeze and hype of today’s other shows. Other than Dr. Oz, there really is nothing worth watching on TV. I will miss you Bonnie…hopefully another stations will pick you up and you will flourish with the right promotion and following!
God Bless!
I love the Bonnie Hunt Show …it’s on at 8 a.m. here and it’s nice to be able to watch a nice entertaining, funny show rather than the depressing news. Love Bonnie’s Mom & will miss the chats from her…I will miss the WHOLE show and wish it could continue !!!!
I love the Bonnie Hunt Show and so does my 22-year-old daughter. Clean, kind, respectful, and sweetly funny. We are hoping the network will reconsider, otherwise the show will be very deeply missed by its many fans.
I have commented before. I just can’t stand the fact that Bonnies show is not recognized as the great show it is. Promotion, promotion, promotion is what was needed. I noticed that when a network wants a show to suceed. They will put the repeats on another night. Why hasn’t this happened in another time slot. I watch Rachael Ray because I need ideas for cooking. But truthfully I like Bonnie better. One of the best parts of her show is in the beginning with her staff. They are delightfully funny and so real and down to earth. Actually I… Read more »
What a tremendous disappointment.I love this show and have loved this show since day one.In these times of “reality TV” Bonnie’s show was a funny lighthearted breathe of fresh air. Everyone I know will miss Bonnie.
what the heck is wrong with TV programming these days? Finally we had a show that was refreshing, funny, heartwarming and intelligent. the powers that be need to open their eyes and ears and realize that this show is a hit. everyone woman i know watches bonnie, and we adore her ad libbed jokes. the interviews are great, and we get to see another side of celebrity….the humble and humorous side of people we watch on tv.
c’mon warner brothers…SAVE OUR BONNIE!!!!
We love the show so much. It kind of makes our listening day. With so much trash on the major networks it is refreshing to see a class act.
Can’t believe they are dropping the Bonnie Hunt Show. What is WRONG with Warner Bros., you are making a big mistake. I love this show it is like being at home with family. Keep he show on the air, best talk show on the air.
I love the Bonnie Hunt Show. I don’t think it was given a fair chance in some markets. For instance in Baltimore they show it at 1:35 a.m. I am lucky enough to be able to watch on the Washington DC channel at 12 noon but I know she would have had a much bigger audience if given a fair chance.
AWESOME!
So glad to see that worthless trashy go.
Lets hope rosie doesn’t come back.
Trash for trash swap.
Neither are funny although they think they are.
Just like watching conan and letterman laugh at their trashy jokes!
Good riddance. She should have been canceled a year ago!
I HATE THAT BONNIE IS LEAVING SHE IS THE BEST THING SINCE REGIS AND KATHIE LEE, (KELLY LEE) IT ALWAYS BRIGHTENED MY DAY TO SEE HER!!!!!!!
WE WILL MISS YOU BONNIE MAYBE SEE IF TBS WILL TAKE YOU……
LOVE YOU BONNIE AND CREW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How can they cancel the Bonnie Hunt show when there is so much junk on TV, hers is the one show that I enjoy. Let’s have more great shows like Real Housewives or Dancing with the Stars who is head of these networks a bunch of idiots.
I am sooooo saddened to learn that the Bonnie Hunt show was cancelled- it is such a refreshing morning show – I am so tired of all the others that dwell on gossip and hollywood drama- I will truly miss seeing her and her wonderful humor- I would hope that NBC would reconsider it’s decision.
