The end is coming for The Bonnie Hunt Show after two seasons on the air. Hosted by actress and comedian Bonnie Hunt, the Warner Bros. syndicated show has been struggling in the ratings essentially since it debuted.
The series has stayed on the air for two seasons mainly because NBC-owned stations had made a two-year deal. Warners could have pulled the plug last spring but instead showed faith and hoped that ratings would improve. Now that the agreement is coming to an end, so is The Bonnie Hunt Show.
Hunt reportedly gave the bad news to her staff on Monday morning but the cancellation wasn’t officially confirmed until last night.
By all accounts, the daytime series will remain in production and complete the season so there are lots of new episodes to come.
What do you think? Why did the show fail? Is there no room for more than a couple of daytime talk shows, like The Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Oprah Winfrey Show? Or, is there something lacking in Hunt’s show?

love this show. refreshing. why it got cancelled is a mystery.maybe because it isn’t advertised like oprah or the other shows.
I was saddend to learn that Bonnie Hunt has been cancelled. It is the only talk show I watch regularly. With all the world problems, hearing of all the crimes commited, it is the only show that has humor and inspiring stories and ends with a good feeling. I enjoy her mother and seeing her dog, Charlie. We have so few wholesome family shows. Sorry the ratings were not higher and that there will be those of us who will miss her.
I am so sad that her show is being discontinued. I LOVE HER!! She brightens my day. She is smart, witty and loves animals which I do too. Can’t we do something to save her show???
I love the Bonnie Hunt show I watch it every day. She’s so funny. Her heart is as big as “Chicago”. Please try to get her to stay on. She brightens my day,
I love the Bonnie Hunt Show. It is cheerful and happy and funny.
What a crock! This was my favorite hour of tv. Recovering from surgery and chemotherapy can be draining. Bonnie lifted my spirits every day. This is a mistake!
i think its ashame that such a pure funny, happy, show as awsome as Bonnie’s gets cancelled when there is so much negitivity in the world, we certainly dont need anymore gossip, fighting, sex,bad language & bad taste shows !! WE NEED TO LAUGH! WE NEED BONNIE,CHARLIE,ALICE, AND THE CREW. I’M so sorry to hear your leaving i lived your show so much. Best of luck to you all 🙂
I love Bonnie Hunt show….refreshing, funny and so clean and honorable….with so much trash on TV why would they get rid of the good stuff?
This is a very sad time. It was great to sit back and watch Bonnie Hunt. She brought fun and clean viewing. She did a great job. I was never bored or offended by her show. I am going to miss Bonnie. I don’t know why people don’t watch it. I only know that I am going to miss her. I loved her show now I dont have a reason to watch tv of a morning.
So the ratings just got worse for your station, instead of better.
PLEASE don’t cancel this wonderful show with such a gracious lady–Bonnie. This is the best thing on TV at the 11:00 time slot (Central time). She is a delight!!
I enjoy the show. I especially like the line up of Dr Oz, then Bonnie and The View. I will miss the show. It was excellent. I do NOT watch Oprah (phoney) or Ellen (dancing is stupid).
Save Bonnie !!! Get rid of Wendy Williams !!
Why not save Bonnie and keep the Wendy Williams show! The reason Wendy’s show is still on, time slot late (11 pm CST). Plus Wendy’s show is not on a main channel (e.g., abc, cbs, and nbc). Bonnie, go to TBS, UPN, etc… Go Bonnie!!!
I LOVE the Bonnie Hunt show! I can’t believe it got canceled! Unlike Oprah, who constantly interrupts her guests and acts holier-than-thou, Bonnie is down to earth and actually listens to her guests! And she’s so funny! ABC really messed up. Hope another network picks it up!
I was not able to watch day time TV until this year after retiring. Now, I look forward to 10:00 am. Bonnie is so funny, she makes my day a little brighter. I am so disappointed to here that the network is going to make yet another mistake
don’t watch alot of tv but I love watching the Bonnie show. On my days off she makes me laugh and smile. I will turn on the tv just for her and then turn it off. I am disappointed that such a wonderful show is being taken off the air. I wish that the powers that be would reconsider…
