The end is coming for The Bonnie Hunt Show after two seasons on the air. Hosted by actress and comedian Bonnie Hunt, the Warner Bros. syndicated show has been struggling in the ratings essentially since it debuted.
The series has stayed on the air for two seasons mainly because NBC-owned stations had made a two-year deal. Warners could have pulled the plug last spring but instead showed faith and hoped that ratings would improve. Now that the agreement is coming to an end, so is The Bonnie Hunt Show.
Hunt reportedly gave the bad news to her staff on Monday morning but the cancellation wasn’t officially confirmed until last night.
By all accounts, the daytime series will remain in production and complete the season so there are lots of new episodes to come.
What do you think? Why did the show fail? Is there no room for more than a couple of daytime talk shows, like The Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Oprah Winfrey Show? Or, is there something lacking in Hunt’s show?

i loved bonnie hunt show, in the market where i live we get the show in the morning at 10am and there is nothing else on at that time worth turning the tv on for. so my tv will remain off until the evening hours.
If I had the chance, I would go to the Bonnie Hunt show – not Oprah or Rachel Ray. She and her crew make me laugh and cry; I actually feel like part of her family. I record her show every day and will keep them to watch again. She is a treasure!
I think Bonnie Hunt’s show is one of the best afternoon shows on TV. She brings an extra spark and honesty that is missing – Oprah’s show is good but I’m tired of the sad stories and just enjoy a fun show where Bonnie also includes her staff, writers, etc.
I hope that some other smart and savvy network picks it up. It is a refreshing show in the middle of the day.
If you want to put your 2 cents worth in at W/B, another way to do it is to go to their website, look up the “television” programs they offer, click on “Bonnie Hunt Show” and give them your 2 cents, NO, give them a WHOLE LOT MORE !
Just let them know what a big mistake they made. I am curious as to what is going to come up next for Bonnie. Hope another show.
I don’t understand why you’d take off a good show like Bonnie Hunt. Her show was the only bit of fresh air on day time TV. I always looked forward to her mother’s appearances. Her mother is great fun. So, we no longer have any fun choices just dumb stuff about people with too many problems. There is just too much junk on TV and with Bonnie gone there will be even more.
Bonnie Hunt is the best thing on day time TV. I’m beginning to believe everything
David Letterman has to say about NBC. They just don’t get it.
I am so disappointed!! My 11 year old daughter and I loved to watch The Bonnie Hunt Show together. We will miss them all, especially Bonnie’s mother. Many Blessings.
Another stupid move by a network!!!! Bonnie Hunt’s show is fabulous!!!!! Her love an passion for animals is refreshing and my favorite part of the show.
Cancel it ~ unbelieveable.
What? Cancel Bonnie Hunt? Why?
What is this world coming to? Bonnie & her crew make for a warm & fuzzy afternoon. Family, animals, clean humor, feel good moments….where’s the rub there? Yet those bitchy women on The View keep showing up.
NBC & Warner Bros. SHAME ON YOU.
Can’t we do something (quick, of course!!) like mass emails or mailing to the “Powers that be” who decided this? Maybe if we all banded together they’d reconsider. Then they’d see that their “Poor ratings” was a mistake – and that she is INDEED valued, appreciated, and NEEDED by the public!!!
To the Powers that Be,
ARE YOU CRAZY ????????????
What part didn’t people like? Bonnie’s fantastic sense of fun and humor? Her fast wit? Her family values? Her love and compassion for animals of all kinds including humans? Her great staff? Her intelligence? Her guest interactions?
All I can say is ARE YOU CRAZY??????????
Now, I’m hoping that she will eventually take over the Oprah Show when Oprah leaves and then you will have to say to yourselves,
ARE YOU CRAZY??????????
Thanks for reading —- I’m soooooo sorry for us all

I and my husband are sorry to see the Bonnie Hunt show cancelled,we watche the show every day and don’t miss a show-It was really nice to see a clean cut family originated show on T.V.-We are going to miss seeing Bonnie everyday in our living room, she is so very intertaining and funny and we injoy her Mom so much and the rest of the crew-I wish Bonnie and her crew the best in the future and hope she comes back with another show-
I am so disapointed in hearing this news. Bonnie’s show has been a pleasure to watch. It does not seem right that the good shows fade away and the lousy shows survive. I have always been a fan of Bonnie’s, and hope to see her and her staff in a new show soon. Better yet, bring this show back.
Pat
so sorry to see her go.i have always been a big fan of her and her humor.her show was a nice mid afternoon escape from the all the bad there is in the world,it was nice to have an hour of fun and lots of laughs with her and her guest stars no matter who they were,i hope to see her some where else in the near future whether it be another show or a movie or sitcom,i wish her the very best and to keep smilin and making us all laugh real soon.
The Bonnie Hunt Show is the best thing on TV!!!! Go figure something of quality full of good clean humor and sincere caring would go off the air while other shows remain such as one where the women yell at each other and attack the character of others; guess that’s okay because it sells. The “powers that be” need to take a look at the trash that they support while they let good moral shows slip through the cracks. Never fear, Bonnie, Don and the crew will make it good in spite of poor network decisions. YOU ROCK, BONNIE HUNT… Read more »
I couldn’t agree more with the above comments. I have the Bonnie Hunt Show set to record every day and I too think it’s a shame they are pulling the plug on such a quality show. I’m especially going to miss “Just Ask Allice.” Bonnie and Don are a great team and you can see the love that her entire crew has for her. She is a class act! I’m bummed in a huge way and I wish her all the best.
