The end is coming for The Bonnie Hunt Show after two seasons on the air. Hosted by actress and comedian Bonnie Hunt, the Warner Bros. syndicated show has been struggling in the ratings essentially since it debuted.
The series has stayed on the air for two seasons mainly because NBC-owned stations had made a two-year deal. Warners could have pulled the plug last spring but instead showed faith and hoped that ratings would improve. Now that the agreement is coming to an end, so is The Bonnie Hunt Show.
Hunt reportedly gave the bad news to her staff on Monday morning but the cancellation wasn’t officially confirmed until last night.
By all accounts, the daytime series will remain in production and complete the season so there are lots of new episodes to come.
What do you think? Why did the show fail? Is there no room for more than a couple of daytime talk shows, like The Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Oprah Winfrey Show? Or, is there something lacking in Hunt’s show?

I love the Bonnie Hunt show. This is such a good show. Her love of animals is awesome. My favorite shows are when she brings dogs to be adopopted. She involves her crew which I enjoy. I’m really going to miss her. I suppose she will be replaced by another judge or s soap opera.
I have watched the Bonnie Hunt show faithfully each day. I look forward to her clean approach to life and the fact that she’s so devoted to her mother and family! The banter that she has with staff has a “good” feel to it . . .like family!! It’s such a shame that wholesome clean fun has to be omitted from our TV watching enjoyment because of the almighty “ratings”!!! Good luck to you Bonnie and your crew. You will all be “greatly” missed!!
I am so sad that this show is going because the $ aren’t there. I love Bonnie, her mom, her staff and her guests were always entertaining. I have laughed so many times while watching this show. Guess I will have to clean house an hour earlier now…argh!
This is the greatest talk show on the air. Bonnie is so real. She is sincere about everything she talks about. She is a very wholesome person and thoughtful about her staff and evcryone in the audience. It is sad that people do not like that type of entertainment. She is funny and clean talking. Again I am really going to miss her show.
Figures, a great show cancelled. I could name a whole list of shows that need to go way before Bonnie ever should. What a stupid decision.
I love the Bonnie Hunt show…she models her show as if she is sitting in the living room talking to you….I love the way she interacts with her staff…This is really a shame that the show is being cancelled. I don’t watch The View because of the mean spirited people on it…plus they talk over each other all the time. I watch Ellen and Oprah only sometimes….they both have agendas and I don’t like it when Oprah pushes her “victim” agenda and Ellen her “gay” agenda….like Seinfeld said … ‘altho’ there’s nothing wrong with that’, I watch TV for entertainment… Read more »
IT REALLY IS SAD THEY TAKE OFF SUCH A FUNNY AND WHOLESOME SHOW REALLY ENJOYED THE SHOW AND HOW HUMBLE AND HONEST BONNIE AND HE STAFF IS IF IT IS NOT A REALITY SHOW IT DOESN’T GET THE AIR TIME REALLY GOING TO MISS BONNIE
I think it is stupid move. Her show was great, good clean fun! Watched it since day one and laughed EVERY DAY! ( the ONLY daytime talk show we ever watched! )
Now they probably will put on another foolish “reality” or “judge” show!
We will miss you Bonnie and the best for you is yet to come!
It’s such a great, clean show. It’s such a same something so funny and nice is going off the air. My husband and I work afternoons and we enjoy this bit of sunshine before we go to work. (He loves you, and hates talk shows!) Your mom is soooo wonderful. I like to tell her jokes at work. God will bless you because of all the happiness you have brought to people. We’ll keep our eye and ears open! Remember, when one door closes, there’s a window God has opened somewhere else! Love, Rosie
Why? The show is funny and filthy
like most shows on television today.
I think people didn’t know about this show. I am 56 and my mother is 84 and we both Love the show. It is relaxing, and fun to watch and exceptionally entertaining. I wish we could all sign a petition and get it back. I think NBC is to fault for not having enough publicity
My wife and I are extremely disappointed with this cancellation. Bonnie Hunt’s show has brought so much interest to a variety of audiences, as friends, relatives, and business associates have all expressed their disappointment. Many, we had no idea watched the show until now. We all feel like, even though the show has only been on a few seasons, we are losing an old friend !
It really stinks that they cancelled the show. A super great show that all the family could watch and not be afraid when to hit the mute button ….I’m really going to miss the show….what is wrong with these TV executives……I only hope that someone else will see her tallent and get her on again. Good Luck Bonnie….I loved your show everyday!!!
And once again a wholesome show is cancelled because of stupidity and
misdirected ceo. Another reason for me to scratch the channel
Why do you cancel the “clean” shows and keep all the crap? I’ve finally found a show I thoroughly enjoy. Now its to be cancelled. More than half the shows are shoot-em-ups. So violent I won’t watch. No wonder our kids are so comfortable carrying a gun.
I find Bonnie’s show to be thoroughly entertaining. I love the dogs, her Mom, her cast, and Bonnie herself.
