The end is coming for The Bonnie Hunt Show after two seasons on the air. Hosted by actress and comedian Bonnie Hunt, the Warner Bros. syndicated show has been struggling in the ratings essentially since it debuted.
The series has stayed on the air for two seasons mainly because NBC-owned stations had made a two-year deal. Warners could have pulled the plug last spring but instead showed faith and hoped that ratings would improve. Now that the agreement is coming to an end, so is The Bonnie Hunt Show.
Hunt reportedly gave the bad news to her staff on Monday morning but the cancellation wasn’t officially confirmed until last night.
By all accounts, the daytime series will remain in production and complete the season so there are lots of new episodes to come.
What do you think? Why did the show fail? Is there no room for more than a couple of daytime talk shows, like The Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Oprah Winfrey Show? Or, is there something lacking in Hunt’s show?

Please, please try and put the show in another time-slot, try it at night or prehaps late afternoon! It is a refreshing, original show and not phoney like Ellen, the View or Regis and Kelly! what a shame that such a class act has been cancelled, what is America coming to.
I am sooo sorry to have the Bonnie Hunt show is being cancelled.
I am not going to watch reruns which would cost the net work almost no money. I hope that she has sucess in the future as I have enjoyed her show.

May 19,2010 Best show ever. It reminded me of the Merv Griffin Show. Oprah is leaving replace Bonnie Hunt there … In this day and age we all need a good laugh as well as engaging interviews…. Think of it as mental health prevention
Please bring this show back she is hilarious and engaging. She always puts a smile on my face and my mother’s. Bring her back at a different time or different station. Put Bonnie on at the time slot of oprah when she leaves the air or put her on and switch the view to her old time slot.
Sincerely,
Kathy L. Dienstbier
I am very upset that Bonnie is being cancelled… She is a great hostess and her show is very down to earth, etc. Don’t understand the why of it but it’s probably political, just everything else in this country nowadays…. BYE Bonnie… We love you so much
Keep Bonnie Hunt! She has great shows!
NOOOOOO, don’t cancel the Bonnie Hunt show, we love her and the staff is so funny, PLEASE keep her on the air!!!!!!!!
I am so upset that NBC would spend millions to put on something as awful as JAY LENO and not only continue to let that kind of show continue, but then allow a TRULY ENTERTAINING show such as the BONNIE HUNT SHOW go off the air and not do a thing to save it. Bonnie Hunt is far more intelligent than ELLEN DEGENERES, far more hysterical than Jay Leno will ever be. She doesnt take cheap shots at others, she doesnt do magnanmous gestures such as giving large sums of money away or new cars every other day, to hold… Read more »
I cannot believe that the Bonnie Hunt Show is cancelled and the Jerry Springer Show lives on!!!!! Unbelievable!!!! Goes to show, misery loves company. Apparently those in power would rather have shows on the air showing violence, vulgarity (bleeps), ridicule and all kinds of nonsense to entertain SOME viewers. Have someone like Bonnie who has the ability to entertain her audience and those of us at home, the show is cancelled. Her humor and love passes on to each and every one of us and makes our day. She is sincere about her love of people and animals. She is… Read more »
The Bonnie Hunt show was well done and the way the whole staff got involved was great, maybe if she had been more like Ellen and scared people and played dangereous games like Ellen likes to do,some of the skits they tryed to do lacked something, but the Love that was felt by the studio viewers and the home viewers was always so real on Bonnie’s and her staff’s parts.I feel very bad for the crew,I hope all will find new jobs, but better yet,I wish a Fairy God Mother or Father would come in and put Bonnie, her mom and the whole crew… Read more »
Bonnie Hunt is like a breath of fresh air! For all of us ladies her age and better, she spoke from the heart with a desire to really relate to her audience, which she did. I love her show and am so saddened the powers that be decided to take it off the air. It was entertaining, informative and I felf as though I were sitting right there in the audience each time it aired. She is real, not ostentacious. I truly wish the PTB would reconsider or give her another time slot.
I was so disappointed when I heard she was not returning. I looked forward to seeing her show daily. How in the world do you get these so-called ratings. Are you using Nielsen? I am 64 years old and no one has asked me to rate the shows I watch. I thought her show was a really wholesome family show. Her Mom was such a “kick”! She was so good and kind to her fans and audiences. Her love of animals was absolutely refreshing. She was so funny, and she always included her crew in all of her antics. I… Read more »

THIS IS JUST UNBELIEVABLE.BONNIE I WISH YOU ANND YOUR MOTHER ALICE THE BEST. GOOD LUCK . A VERY LOYAL VIEWER MITZI
Put the Bonnie Hunt show at a different time Maybe Ophra’s time slot. NBC finally puts an entertaining show on the air. Bonnie has a natural wit and is a very caring person. I don’t understand how Warner Bros. cancel this show. She always has a live audience and has also been nominated for an Emmy. Please reconsider your decision and put the show back on. Carol Hulse
I am so sorry to see the Bonnie Hunt Show cancelled. She is the most entertaining and engaging talk show host on the air. The afternoons just won’t be the same without her!
