If you’ve been looking forward to watching The Code TV show on CBS this Monday night, you’re going to be disappointed. The network has pulled the drama series from the schedule. Will it back? Has it been cancelled?
A military legal drama, The Code stars Luke Mitchell, Anna Wood, Ato Essandoh, Phillipa Soo, Dana Delany, and Raffi Barsoumian. The story unfolds at the Judge Advocate General Headquarters in Quantico, Virginia and centers on the prosecutors, defense lawyers, and investigators who work on the legal challenges facing the U.S. Marine Corps.
The first season of The Code debuted in April drew pretty low ratings, right from the start. The eight aired episodes have averaged a 0.57 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.10 million viewers in the live + same day ratings. It’s one of CBS’ lowest-rated scripted shows of the 2018-19 season.
The Code has been pulled from the schedule and will, for the immediate future, be replaced by reruns of Magnum PI. Right now, the plan is for The Code to return on Monday, July 1st, but those plans could change.
While The Code hasn’t been officially cancelled yet, CBS pulling the series from the schedule certainly points in that direction. Some of the series’ small audience will get out of the habit of watching the program and the first week in July is traditionally one of the lowest-watched weeks of television. The ratings for the next episode will be much lower than they have been.
If there was any hope of The Code surviving to see a second season, I think this move makes it clear that CBS has given up on the series.
What do you think? Do you like The Code TV show? Do you think it will be cancelled? Would you watch season two?
Every show that I like, you guys remove it. The Code was and is an awesome show with great actors. Please do not cancel.
Yes definitely we would watch The Code.
I loved this show. it is so sad that they canceled tv show “The Code.
Please do not cancel this show, it is wonderful, we love it, keep it please.
We love this show.
I love this show a modern version of Jag. Good stories, good cast. I would definitely watch season 2. Why not put it on a different night, or maybe at 9pm
I liked it, not immediately, but after 3 or 4 shows. Unique cast, had to warm up to them, but I did. I liked JAG, too, was excited to see something similar come up.
Don’t Do it! Save “The Code”. Give it a second chance. A military drama light on the violence, but heavy on the drama. The players were all human, with problems unrelated to their jobs. Well scripted.
This is a great Drama and shows the Military in a very good light! Please don’t cancel it.
I really liked this show.
Please don’t cancel The Code.
I loved the show
Its military basis combined with law and individual plots was great. Maybe the 18 to 49ers are not TV bugs but instead tied up with kids and working. Maybe the basis for what survives should be reviewed
The code is an intelligent, interesting, enjoyable hour of viewing. Why would you take that away? There is humor, drama, serious issues that are rarely addressed on any other format. Please, please, “see the light” and renew the show.
I also truly loved this show and faithfully DVR’d it for viewing. The actors and story lines have been very entertaining and relevant. Please give this drama another opportunity in a better time slot.
I enjoyed the show and would look forward to the development of all of the characters. I hope it is given a little more time!
I love this show!! The actors are excellent! The plots are very timely, interesting and informative!! What a disappointment it is to see that you cancelled this show! Maybe you are looking at the wrong demographic!
