If you’ve been looking forward to watching The Code TV show on CBS this Monday night, you’re going to be disappointed. The network has pulled the drama series from the schedule. Will it back? Has it been cancelled?
A military legal drama, The Code stars Luke Mitchell, Anna Wood, Ato Essandoh, Phillipa Soo, Dana Delany, and Raffi Barsoumian. The story unfolds at the Judge Advocate General Headquarters in Quantico, Virginia and centers on the prosecutors, defense lawyers, and investigators who work on the legal challenges facing the U.S. Marine Corps.
The first season of The Code debuted in April drew pretty low ratings, right from the start. The eight aired episodes have averaged a 0.57 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.10 million viewers in the live + same day ratings. It’s one of CBS’ lowest-rated scripted shows of the 2018-19 season.
The Code has been pulled from the schedule and will, for the immediate future, be replaced by reruns of Magnum PI. Right now, the plan is for The Code to return on Monday, July 1st, but those plans could change.
While The Code hasn’t been officially cancelled yet, CBS pulling the series from the schedule certainly points in that direction. Some of the series’ small audience will get out of the habit of watching the program and the first week in July is traditionally one of the lowest-watched weeks of television. The ratings for the next episode will be much lower than they have been.
If there was any hope of The Code surviving to see a second season, I think this move makes it clear that CBS has given up on the series.
What do you think? Do you like The Code TV show? Do you think it will be cancelled? Would you watch season two?
The characters were just being developed ~ please don’t cancel it
Please give this show a second season. We enjoy it.
The Code is an excellent show. CBS should put it in another time slot. If Magnum PI Reboot can make a second season then THE CODE should definitely be given another chance!!!!
I LOVE THE CODE it is a great show. I hate it when great shows are cancelled. The cast is Amazing the storyline also good please don’t cancel!!
Some shows are a tad slow out of the gate so please give this one a bit of time, you have all the elements, cast and story line to make this wonderful .

We like very much this show. We do not missed that program every Monday. Military show is something we should see more often. We like the characters and all the actions all around it. The show shows us how it is run in offices. Please bring us a second season. The Code shows us a part of war, accidents that happened in the real world, problems in different family, etc. Please ,please, please bring us a second season. Everyone is allowed of a second chance.
Started out good, but got really sappy in show 7 and 8. Quit watching after that.
I liked the show and really liked the cast. Won’t watch rerun shows.
Figures…so much garbage on TV, and they cancel a quality show…
I agree with Bob but then I guess I can stop watching network TV and go to the library and get some videos.
Yes I like the show. The summer is depleted of good TV so this makes up for the loss of the usual broadcasts.
Absolute Love the code, keep it on tv!
Very boring show.No loss on that one.
I think The Code is one of the most boring shows on CBS.Glad to see it go.
Really like the actors and story lines on The Code! I hope it stays….because it’s also one of my favs, along with The Enemy Within and The Village, and they both have been pulled off the schedules, too. Don’t like reality TV…but it seems more and more many of great shows like The Code are being replaced by crazy reality stuff—-not appealing to me!
