Bones has been a quiet hit for FOX but the same can’t be said for its spin-off, The Finder. FOX has now cancelled the low-rated series after one season.
The Finder is a procedural series that revolves around a man (Geoff Stults) with the extraordinary ability to help people find the unfindable. Other castmembers include Maddie Hasson, Mercedes Masohn, and Michael Clarke Duncan.
The spin-off debuted on January 12th to a disappointing 1.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.50 million total viewers. It was fourth in its Thursday night timeslot right out of the gate and lost nearly 30% of the all-important demo from its compatible lead-in, Bones. This was not a good start.

Things picked up a bit in the following weeks, thanks in large part to the show having FOX’s blockbuster American Idol as a lead-in. Still, the numbers weren’t as high as they should have been.
After seven weeks on the air, FOX put Finder on hiatus and then moved it to Friday nights, giving its Thursday timeslot to Touch. If The Finder could maintain a healthy percentage of its viewers after the switch, it would likely garner a renewal.
But that didn’t happen and Finder’s numbers dropped like a rock. In its first Friday airing, the freshman series attracted a 1.1 demo rating — an episode-to-episode loss of 53% — with just 4.03 million viewers. The numbers for future episodes fluctuated a bit but didn’t really get any more encouraging. The network could do just as well or better by running cheaper reality programming.
The season finale of The Finder is set to air this Friday night and there won’t be any episodes after that. Hopefully the producers saw the writing on the wall early enough and won’t leave viewers hanging with any major unresolved storylines.

I love The Finder and sad to find out it was cancelled. The the is I had never heard of it until I found it on netflix. Maybe it should have been advertised more. I would like to see it brought back and give it a second chance. Please.
My husband and I loved this show! I felt a little devastated when I found out there was no second season. Definitely would be a good pick up for Netflix, but the question would be whether they felt it was worthwhile. Maybe someone could start a kickstarter fund, haha 🙂

I think it is a great show. I saw the show when it was on one of the Bones episodes and thought it would be a great series. I just found the show on Netflix it was great!! I am so sad it was canceled and fox apparently needs to do more advertising of their shows on other channels. I hate that Michael Duncan has since passed away. It would change everything somewhat but I believe the writers and a good actor will work it out. Seriously they need to bring it back it was a good and decent show.
I think they cancelled it because micheal duncan is deseased.
Great show! I found it on Netflix and couldn’t get enough of it! I think Fox needed to do some advertising because I had never heard of it before Netflix suggested it.

Feel this show should actually be a Netflix series it is an awesome show made me and my boyfriend crack up laughing. We both enjoy the show and would love to know where it picks up after the season 1 finale it leaves you hanging about whats going to happen to willow and walter and everybody.
Just found this show on Netflix and we love it. I also think if your not going to bring it back to a network it needs to be a series for Netflix. It reminds me of psych. I think the connection with bones needs to be more developed with in the series. This show is a must come back even though we lost a character. This is a show I can be proud too watch and know it’s clean! Love this show!
Look this is a great show better than 9 outa 10 of the shows on the air now and in a while me and my mother thoroghly enjoy this show and you should maje at least 1-4 more seasons put it on netflix or something please great show that got canceled.
Discovered the show on Netflix and was intrigued. Was just getting into the character development. Fox should give it another chance.

I personally am about done with Fox! Everytime they come out with a new show they cancel it prematurely! Don’t we deserve at least a 1 or 2 hr episode to find out what happens for this show or any of the other awesome shows that they canceled!!! They might not get the ratings they want but look at the over all sales, downloads, and reviews. This show like others are well watched, and liked and all of us are very disappointed in Fox!
