As expected, there won’t be a second season for Lifetime’s future drama, The Lottery. The cable channel has cancelled the TV series after one season of 10 episodes.
The Lottery takes place in the year 2025 when our planet is in the midst of a fertility crisis. Women can no longer bear children and the human race faces extinction. After years of research researchers have been able to fertilize 100 eggs and a lottery is held to determine who can carry them to term. The cast of this thriller includes Marley Shelton, Martin Donovan, Yul Vasquez, Athena Karkanis, Michael Graziadei, David Alpay, and Shelley Conn.
The show premiered in July to 1.08 million viewers but lost more than 30% of its viewers in week two and the numbers kept sliding downward as the season progressed. The finale, which aired on September 28th, drew just 425,000. The season averaged 670,000 viewers, a far cry from Devious Maids’ 1.81 million average.
What do you think? Did you like The Lottery TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
I loved this show I hope the network reconsiders I was looking forward to finding out what happens.
Seriously!!! Why does lifetime always do this? Get you hooked then end it on a cliffhanger!!!!! Not happy. Maybe its time to boycott lifetime!!
I second that. I say if yourngoing to cancel a show atleast make an ending show. Its like reading a book and the last page is missing from all the books.
I liked the show! Now just hearing about the cancellation I’m very disappointed!!!! ESP knowing that I’ll no longer be Able to find out what happens to Kyle and his son and what even happens with the egg
I really would have liked an ending to the story. For this network, this was one of your better shows.
Why do they always end shows on a cliffhanger?!?!?
my son and I are very sad The lottery is cancelled. We loved watching it together.,Shame on you lifetime. for you are my most watched station.
Love this show! It can’t be cancelled.
I loved this show and disappointed it was canceled!
they could have at least ended it fyrst.
I loved that how a waiting for next season!
It started as a good idea but it got too complicated and kind of lost its track. I’m not surprised it got cancelled. I stopped watching after the fifth episode.
I am ver disappointed in Lifetime for canceling this could have been series!!! I was really enjoying the progression of the storyline and I thi they should have renewed!
This was an awesome show. Too bad people don’t watch more than one show so they can see how it sets up.
Why do they cancel shows without ending them. At least come back long enough to end the story. This shows no respect for your viewers.
