Last night, FOX debuted The Mob Doctor, their first new dramatic series of the 2012-13 season. Did it receive House-sized ratings in its debut or is it destined to be cancelled after one season like Terra Nova or Alcatraz?
The Mob Doctor follows a talented young female doctor who must help the mob in the Southside of Chicago while also working for a city hospital. The cast includes Jordana Spiro, Floriana Lima, Zach Gilford, Željko Ivanek, Wendy Makkena, Jesse Lee Soffer, William Forsythe, James Carpinello, and Michael Rappaport.
In its premiere, Mob Doctor drew a disappointing 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.09 million total viewers, per the fast affiliate ratings.
On the positive side, essentially everyone who started watching the episode kept watching until the end. On the negative side, that’s not really enough people, no matter how you look at it. Mob Doctor also lost about 38% in the demo from the last half hour of lead-in Bones.
Mob Doctor was in fourth place in its timeslot and once the new season of Dancing with the Stars gets underway, the numbers will likely only get worse.
So, what do you think? Did you watch FOX’s The Mob Doctor last night? Will you watch again? Do you think the audience will grow or shrink in week two?
The show should be euthanized. It was that bad.
I agree it wasn’t good and my wife and me stopped watching after 15 minutes into it.
