NBC had high hopes for The Mysteries of Laura but it certainly wasn’t a hit in the ratings. The network renewed the series anyway. Will the ratings improve this time around or will they drop lower? Will the series be cancelled or renewed for a third season? Stay tuned.
The Mysteries of Laura revolves around a brilliant-but-harried NYPD homicide detective (Debra Messing) who must also juggle raising her young twin boys as a single mom. The rest of the cast includes Josh Lucas, Laz Alonso, Janina Gavankar, Max Jenkins, Callie Thorne, and Med Steedle.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.

For comparisons: The first season of The Mysteries of Laura averaged a 1.22 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 7.45 million total viewers.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like The Mysteries of Laura TV series? Would you like to see it cancelled or renewed for third season?
Great light comedy with interesting cases. Humor is unforced and characters are well-drawn. I always look forward to watching the show.
Waited patiently for the Mysteries of Laura to start on 11/11/15 but sadly it never did. Three households were disappointed and one who will soon be doing the Nielson ratings . This was my hump day carrot.
Season 2 is real hard for me to watch. I miss the interaction between home & work, the concept of her husband as boss, and the quirky detective from Kenosha, Wisconsin. It’s lost all the personality that made the show unique. At least they should find a way to inject a few lighthearted moments back into each episode.
Good showing for MOL considering the baseball playoffs and Republican debate were on! :-))
We get it, worthy magic, you don’t like Mysteries of Laura. Have you even watched it? Don’t bother answering- I don’t care. Looks like NBC is going forward with those additional scripts.
MOL was brought back because otherwise EVERY SINGLE NBC FALL SHOW FROM 2014-15 would HAVE BEEN CANCELLED! The ratings up above show you how PATHETIC this show is. Two 1.2’s and then no more tells you it STINKS! Debra Messing is holding something(pictures, recordings, something) over the head of one or more NBC executives . That is the only reason it hasn’t been cancelled.
Gotten really good. Love this show. Thanks for keeping it own. Debra Messing will always be Grace to me but, mysteries of Laura can stand on it’s own. The entire cast is awesome.
It wasn’t good that Mysteries of Laura came back for season TWO. It shows that NBC is not interested in quality. it is interested in mediocrity. Debra is the most overpaid woman in television for a show that would have been cancelled on practically every other network(if not every other network). the ratings for the show this season have been abysmal(a 1.2 or lower is abysmal, and that’s what its done.) if she is talented, the people who make this show don’t know how to bring it out of her. There is a Debra Messing love fest at NBC, and… Read more »
Wow. You just made over 7 MILLION fans angry. GO NBC!
I cannot believe u r thinking I’d dropping the show. I look forward every week to watch this show just like I liked the tv series FOREVER . I THINK NBC needs to look into the middle age viewers want to watch. Why make a new series get viewers into it then dump it. U better take a better look at the beautiful redhead & her te. I love that show. Please don’t even think of it!!!
Love Debra Messing . She’s gorgeous and talented and I enjoy the show when she’s in the frame, however, I don’t appreciate the obvious heavy eye makeup, complete with heavy liner and falsh eyelashes while she’s wearing sneakers and jeans. Debra has gorgeous hair, but it’s sometimes over done for a Mom of Twins. Lets make DM a success, Like mysteries of Laura. Keep it going, but she’s best when she’s relateable.
Great show…love the cast ..love 2 know that this is on every Wednesday night !!! We all get together n watch…Hope this show goes another 5 years or more !! Thank goodness n.b.c. Is smart enough 2 bring this show back….We love it…
I like the show hope it make it this season love the person who plays Laura please don’t cancell it
Mysteries of Laura is a different kind of cop show but good non-the-less! – Renew
Good opener but where was the family? Alicia? Cute twins? That added a different touch to the show – now it is like all the others . Enjoyed that comic relief. HOpe we see them in the future! Don’t lose the individuality of this. Debra “the mom”, Josh “the dad” was a great part of it all!
I was expecting this show to be cancelled last season but it was not. This is the only show that was predicted to be cancelled that did not get cancelled
It was good that the mysteries of Laura
came back for season two.
