After receiving some of the worst reviews of the season, The Mysteries of Laura had a very unimpressive year in the ratings and could have easily been cancelled. But, luckily for the fans, it’s been renewed for a second season anyway.
The Mysteries of Laura revolves around a brilliant-but-harried NYPD homicide detective (Debra Messing) who must also juggle her home life, including raising her young twin boys and trying to divorce her husband. The rest of the cast includes Josh Lucas, Laz Alonso, Janina Gavankar, Max Jenkins, Vincent Reina, and Charlie Reina.
The series debuted in September and drew a 2.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.19 million viewers. It was an okay start but the ratings have come way down over the course of the season. This week’s edition hit a new low with a 0.9 rating and 6.04 million viewers. It is however the network’s second most-watched scripted series according to the season averages.
While Mysteries of Laura has been renewed for a second season, word is that it’s only been given a 13 episode order. The network execs likely want to see how things go when the series returns before making a bigger commitment.
What do you think? Do you like The Mysteries of Laura TV show on NBC? Do you think it should have been cancelled instead of renewed?

The very best show ever. The whole cast is great, but Debra Messing is fantastic. Funny, witty and very relateable. I will love this show as long as it is aired. I will boycott NBC it it goes.
I love love this show!!!!!!
Please keep it going! Will Laura and Josh hook up? Does he really remember their conversation in the hospital? Can’t wait for it to come back on.
We love this show it is funny and witty and the only other show that we really enjoy as a weekly series is Castle. We also like that the character is not only a good cop but she is a mess in trying to keep the whole mom role and work thing going. A lot of people can identify with that. Please keep it going!!!!!
The show is good but not all the show are appearing on TV the last episode was never on . Maybe that’s why it got a low rating.

We need more shows like this. Shows that entertain you and don’t remind you of the harsh realities we face in our daily lives. Have we forgotten why we have entertainment? Shows should give enjoyment; a time to unwind from our real lives. Time and time again shows get cancelled because of ratings. Truth be told, someone is watching them otherwise there would be no rating. I will never understand your world just like you will never understand that the last thing I want to do is watch a TV show that deals with real life issues – we live… Read more »
