Even though Starz just premiered their new TV series, The White Queen, we already know there won’t be a second season.
Based on Philippa Gregory’s bestselling historical novel series The Cousin’s War, The White Queen tells the story of three very different women as they attempt to scheme, manipulate and seduce their way onto the English throne. The cast includes Max Irons, James Frain, Rebecca Ferguson, Janet McTeer, Ben Lamb, Amanda Hale, Tom McKay, Aneurin Barnard, David Oakes, Faye Marsay, and Eleanor Tomlinson.
The show is co-financed by the BBC in the United Kingdom and Starz here in the states. The 10-part series began airing on BBC1 in June and completed its run last Sunday night.
According to Broadcast Now, the BBC has maintained that The White Queen was intended to run just one season. However, Gregory had hinted that there were hopes to continue the drama via an adaptation of The White Princess. That novel follows the story of Elizabeth of York who went on to marry Henry VII, the first Tudor King.
It now appears that a continuation won’t be happening. A BBC spokesperson said, “The White Queen will not be returning, but it is important to note that it was never actually conceived as a returnable series.”

They should continue the series. Excellent show. I’m sad to see it end. I really hope they consider continuing this show
They sure left it open for a second season with that ending. I’m sure many would like to see the White Princess as sequel.
What! No season 2? It can’t be, tell me it isn’t so. This was a wonderful adaptation into the war of the roses. Finally a show with a plot & great characters & the acting was superb.
What a disappointment. It was the best show starz has aired.

I have enjoyed this series since day one and find it hard to believe that a show of this caliber will be ending after just one season!!! I would LOVE IT if this series became a regular on Starz and would personally watch each and every episode. After each show has aired I find myself watching it again at least twice during the week On Demand. Please, Please let a second season air picking up right where the first series left off!
Please continue this series, I will miss it, and so looked forward to this on saturday nights!!

I LOVED the White Queen, it had all the drama,sex and everything else in between. Please bring it back, I don’t watch TV much, but this is a series I can watch from now on..BRING IT BACK!!!!!!!!
The White Queen was outstanding. My husband and I watched this show every week without fail. We couldn’t wait to watch it each week. We watched each episode with baited breath. We are both stunned and upset to find out that it won’t go past season one. My husband said that it makes no sense not to make more seasons. I feel the same way.
The White Queen is a show that kept me watching each week on Saturday night. I looked forward to it. I hope they bring back a second season! Shows like this one are shows that they should keep going on because it gives us a knowledge of history, which I absolutely love! From watching this show, I would research the history of each main character, cause I wanted to know more! So PLEASE bring back a second season, I’m hooked!!!
PLEASE BRING THIS SERIES BACK IN SOME FORM ON STATZ. I loved the series with only ten episodes and I’m disappointed to hear it will not be returning. I love the show and i and speaking for my family who watch it every saturday night. I don’t know if this connect does any good but its worth a try. I was upset when king Edward (ofcourse) he was very easy on the eyes, yet i still want to see this serious continue … PLEASE
