Would the life of police officer Allison McLean get a little less hectic in season two of the Ties The Bind TV show? We’ll never know. UP has cancelled the drama after one season of 10 episodes.
This dramatic series revolves around a tough and experienced female police officer from Seattle, played by Kelli Williams. Like most working women, Allison McLean’s hands are already full, balancing a demanding and dangerous job and a family — husband Matt (Jonathan Scarfe), and teenagers Jeff (Mitchell Kummen) and Rachel (Natasha Calis). She and her partner, Devin (Dion Johnstone), must arrest her brother, Tim (Luke Perry), for aggravated assault. As a result, her world drastically changes. The rest of the cast includes Matreya Scarrwener, Rhys Matthew Bond, Lucia Walters, and Aaron Craven.
The series debuted in August 2015 and the 10 episodes finished airing in October. The cable channel was apparently considering ordering a second season but earlier this year, they decided not to do so. A message on the show’s Facebook page notes:
After thoughtful consideration, UP has decided to not renew “Ties That Bind.” The decision was not made lightly as we appreciate our passionate viewers who were not ready for the story to end. We want to thank the cast and crew for their tremendous dedication. Your commitment to this series was extraordinary.
What do you think? Did you enjoy this cop drama? Should it have been cancelled? Would you have watched a second season of Ties That Bind on UP?
I enjoyed this show why would you cancel.
I really enjoyed the show and am sad to see a Christian show that interested my entire family turned off.
I can not believe you would cancel this show but leave all that other stuff on. I do not like reality shows because they really aren’t “reality” in today’s world. There are so many shows that you can not watch with your kids or grandkids and this was one you could watch together and not be embarrassed and have to change the channel real quick. That was also the only show I watched on your network and now I won’t watch you at all.
I really wish that you would reconsider your decision about whether about canceling the UP series “Ties that bind” it was a really great show for the whole family and is better than a lot of shows on TV that are full of violence and sex… Please, please reconsider your decision about canceling the show. I would love to see a second season soon. Thank you so much!!!
Juar watched all 10 episodes then find out that is all there is???? Why would you cancel such a good show????
Tired of violent shows, this one was great
I really enjoyed watching this show. I dont know why they cancelled it. I was looking forward to the show to come back. The show was very good and touched great topics.
Yes…yet again another family friendly show has been canceled. Why is it that a blood and gore show will last 10 seasons but a nice show cant make it passed one? Too bad.. was really looking forward to it coming back.
I can’t believe another great show has been canceled. I, for one, looked forward to watching each segment. You could have at least given us, the fans, a heads up that you were canceling ‘Ties That Bind’ & respected us enough to give us closure to the original storyline. I truly believe it’s time to get rid of my TV’s especially since most of the series I have been a fan of seem to either cancel or essential characters leave the show prior to it being cancelled. I hate reality shows & sadly that’s all that seems to be offered… Read more »
I can’t believe yal cancelled this show. It was AWESOME and you left us hanging. Not a good way to end a series. Won’t be watching UP any longer.
I’m with you….love that show but don’t think I will watch UP anymore….they put on good shows then when we get hooked they cancel.
I really like this show
I think it’s stupid that it is canceled plus it was a cliff hanger cause Cameron ran away and we will never know if he is found. So put it back on for the love of tv. I mean obviously up has no taste at all
Well…everything I like gets hated on by ignorant people.
Everything I like gets cancelled.
We really liked this show and was looking forward to it’s return.
