O! for a time machine. Eric Kripke and Shawn Ryan’s Timeless TV show has been cancelled after one short season on NBC.
A time travel drama, Timeless stars Abigail Spencer, Matt Lanter, Malcolm Barrett, and Goran Visnjic. The NBC cast also includes Paterson Joseph, Sakina Jaffrey and Claudia Doumit.
Timeless begins as a mysterious criminal (Visnjic), steals a secret state-of-the-art time machine to use in his attempt to destroy the US. The nation’s best hope lies in the unlikely team made up of a history professor (Spencer), a soldier (Lanter), and a scientist (Barrett).
Timeless: A Look at the Ratings
Season one of Timeless averaged a 1.10 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a average total audience of 4.62 million viewers. When compared to other NBC TV shows the cancellation makes sense. Reportedly, a lot of viewers watching on-line, On Demand, and on DVR delay, but ultimately, the network has to sell ad time, and advertisers like Live + Same Day viewing.
While the Timeless cancellation has not been posted to the NBC-U press site, Deadline has confirmed it.

For goodness sake. No wonder folks are turning to NetFlix for their entertainment pleasure. I enjoyed Timeless, even though the concept was a bit wonky…it was still fun to see. Now, it has been cancelled. Maybe NetFlix will grab it…who knows?
It just came to Netflix….I’m hoping they will pick it up for another season….Riverdale is great on Netflix
Loved the show and watched every episode, in fact recorded them and I’m really glad I did. At least I can rewatch them. It was well written, well researched and well acted. Great story lines and characters so of course it was cancelled. Wish it would be picked up by another network or carrier, Netflix, SYFY???
Although Timeless started off slow like many other shows who went on to win big for many years, it ended strong. It is a shame that Timeless was not given a second season chance to draw more live viewers. Many sci-fi and social sci-fi viewers in this show’s demographic watch either streaming, dvr or on demand out of convenience or to avoid advertisements. I loved the show. It was fun,exciting and had a great cast. How disappointing, I wish they would reconsider.

Nothing But Cancelled (NBC) did that again. i bought this on iTunes, at least give my money back you wealthy, This was the last time i buy something from their stupid chan.
Unbelievable. What a timeless show. Made you feel like you were in a different era every week and the plot was only getting better and better. Reconsider!
My husband and I both loved this show and looked forward to it every week. The acting was great; the plot intriguing; and, we learned some history while watching. Very disappointed in this decision, NBC.
Disappointed. My wife and I really enjoyed this show. Much better quality than what is typically on TV these days.

sad day for all of us timeless fans, this is/was the best show on tv, best of all networks. i am sad nbc decided to cancel this show, wish they would reconsider or maybe another network might pick it up
Didn’t they consider the fact that Timeless had the highest number of viewers votes in the USA Today which shows should be renewed online survey?
